Keep giving it the beans till its high enough for you to feel confident, always keep the front wheel straight and don't apply front brake ever! Also grip with your thighs/knees on the way down. Oh and double the frequency of checking your front suspension etc.
mid range revs and quick acceleration in first. squeeze the clutch a tad an whopie doodi your on ta unicycle

I can never remember, I believe the advice given to some orgers on a wheelie school was clutch wheelie's safer.
I've done a massive power wheelie before and it scared the **** out of me. Didn't exactly have a dignified landing either threw my weight forward and almost broke my wrist.

Clutch wheelie safer imo(you can lift it up at a much slower speed) IIRC when i owned my sv, 1st gear around 5k revs give the throttle a blip to around 8/9k while simultaneously pulling clutch in & out again(quickly)knees squeezing tank(to a degree:))to aid control & keep rear break covered as it can/may come up quite violently & you don't want to flip...start small/work up to big....thats how i did them on my k3,you can also do them in 2nd just increase revs by around another 2k this will bring it up more smoothly but you will be travelling quicker, others might have a slightly different technique......hth
My other half spanked a wheelie when we were out together, just before some lights and who should be coming the other way through the lights .... yep, an armed police response vehicle!!!! Gave him a bike ASBO, something about will take the bike off him if he is caught again in 12 months.
Classic line to the copper when asks what happened .....
Rozzer: "What happened there then?
Him: Lack of Clutch control??
NO, try again
Lack of accelerator control??
Nope not that either
Checking the shocks work??
We could be here a while Sir!!"
Love him x
Thanks for the advice thus far, will practice with Mr ASBO.

Yes - do a trackday at Cadwell and you can get a wheelie over the Mountain :D.
Oh how puerile:D As said above, get good on 2 before you try on 1.

The only advice from me is "on the SV, doing it in second gear is safer"
That little gurly bike :o has got a good amount of touque, it's almost too easy
Cheers
Ben
Everytime my front end raises it still scares the bejesus out of me.
