Hi.
I've just bought a Nokia 7110 mobile off eBay. It's the one from The Matrix with the slider over the keypad.
It seems to be in very good condition but there's one thing I need help with.
On the eBay photo, the mobile was switched off, but when you turn it on there's two offensive words the previous owner has downloaded as an old fashioned screensaver.
I've gone through all the menu options, but I can't work out how to delete the download.
Any ideas? Download a new logo, eg the O2 logo to override?
Any help much appreciated.
Thank you.
I used to have this phone, but cant remember all the options on it.
If you go through the menu is there not an option to reset to defult factory settings?

Yes, but I don't know the master reset code. It's not 1234.

I miss my old Nokia's. I think my favorite phone was either the 3210 or the 8210.
I used to have some software for changing operator logos and start up screens, but that was back in 2000.
I'm not sure the default to factory standard reverts this?? Not sure. But try googling programs for changing operator logos, the same software also does the start up screen.
Good luck
** EDIT **
Just done a google amd 'MobiManager' rings a bell, but if you download the free version it leaves a 'Demo' text in the corner somewhere, but if you want to remove the offensive words then this'll do it I think.
But you will also need the cable for the phone

Any good?Great. Thanks. Followed all the instructions (easy) but at the end it said the phone wasn't actually locked! Any other ideas? Cheers.
In fear of sounding sad, take a closer look at the handset in the film. Then look again at yours. There are several types of 8110 chassis. The one in the film is shown as two types if I recall, at different times in the film. Neo used an 8110 modified, not a 7110.
Good handsets these, are you sure its not just the welcome message that you need to change?

Honestly mate, it's the LogoManager you want, it's got nothing to do with the phone being locked to any network or anything

Go to this website
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/LogoManager-for-Nokia-Phones-Download-2059.html
Download the program, it's the trial software so like I said before it will always send 'Demo' to the top left corner.
This phone has infrared on it somewhere doesn't it (ahh, the old days), if you don't have the cable for the phone then you can do it via the IR if your PC/Laptop still has it (my current one doesn't but my old laptop used to).
Once installed select the 'Edit a startup logo' button from the tool bar across the top. You could just send the blank screen over if you want but that will get rid of the message on start up. I can't remember how you set up to connect the IR or even even you just turn it on and it'll connect I'm sure there is a help section on there somewhere.

Default code for any Nokia is 12345. If that doesn't work the previous owner has changed it and I don't think there's a lot you can do... Sorry!
