I'm a fairly new rider, whats the etiquette like for ride outs?
Rory182 - generally we turn up and have fun.
I've only made it to two ride outs - and on one KG took me as a pillion - but they are always a good laugh!
If you're fairly new you can take the lead if you know the route, and then you set the pace, no-one here is going to complain at a new rider taking their time. It's a bit less pressure
I prefer to stick to the tail end of the ride outs cos I'm slow, dont like to hold people up, but then I like to have a fellow "orger" following me incase I do something silly! I hope to make a few more next year. :)
Come along and see how you feel on the day!
Just noticed that there's NO WAY that Quedos and I will be fit for this due to being well hammered the night before (and into the small hours) and in a hotel recovering!
Excuse me YOU!!! - Me Hammered, when was the last time you can remember when i was hammered!!!:smt065
Carolines wedding I was drunk not hammered :drink::drink:
Hmmm - Its all dependent on how I feel! If I make it iit won't be the bike - I'll nick my dads motor

Our work do's on the 5th (I think), and fuzzy heads and motorbikes aren't
a good mix - I might wuss out on this.
Good thinking, except that requires a mod and they're pretty thin on the ground up here...
But...BUT.. BUT he's online right NOW!
EDIT: Moderated by Supermod! :) Thanks KG

Rideout etiquite for the newbies;
Ther will be a lead rider and a tec, probably both high vized.
Nobody passes the lead rider and the tec passes noone.
All corners and junctions wil be marked by the second man drop off system, ie first rider behind leader stops at junction and waits until tec arrives, no one gets left behind.
Everybody rides at their own pace.
There will be regular regrouping stops.
Make sure at least one other rider has your mobile number and emergency contact detais.
Very informal and easy going, all welcome its about the fun and meeting folks not a race.

Only a week to go people..... :p
Its pretty cold out so i'll be layering up lol Just hope its dry really, should be a fun day
Anyone heading from up Glasgow area. Plan to just blast up using the M8 and M90 etc roads to get there for 10am. Don't fancy getting up at the crack of dawn just to take the sceanic route lol
aye, it was bloomin cold yesterday, not quite so bad today....!!!!
I think I'm going to be there, providing it's dry and not white or icy.lol
Oh yes, and providing the front tyre isnt flat... *rolleyes*
Looking forward to it.
Anyone going via Forth Bridge want to meet at Macdonalds car park at say 0915?
I'm probably doubling up the trip with a Xmas pressie delivery run (weather permitting) to my family in Dundee... so will go my own way after the ice cream is consumed!

I plan on heading along the M8 so a could meet you there about 9.15ish
Where are you heading up from Geeman?
I'm in Grangemouth, so could easily meet you guys at McDonalds at the FRB.
Still pondering over my front tyre - which appears to be ok at the moment, started the bike yesterday too, so i know it's gonna start on sunday. lol
Stay in centre of Edinburgh, so will be heading from there... only 20 mins from bridge....
Fingers crossed on the weather front.... ;)
That makes 3 of us...
well, i'm pretty sure that RamJam will be there - he's an all weather rider unlike me - so if I'm not going to make it I'll drop him a text so you aren't waiting for me.

Still waiting on a call from the local dealers to say my clutch seals are there, Hope they arrive before the weekend. and it solves the lack of gear change problem so I can get the bike out for this one!
Mcdee's is the usual east side meeting point.. not many of us spotted on the site of late though?? Where they all hiding
Ere.. Fenjer, just noticed that yer thing says you have moved into smog central down the road from me.. welcome to the hell hole
What side of the devide are you in? I spent a few years in the Bohouse area before moving up the hill a bit to get some fresh air.
Yup I'm at the bowhouse side.
Stay just next to the Sacred Heart school...lol
And we're all east-coast softies and we're hiding from the cold! lol

Hey Guys,
The Combats made it home in 1 piece. Gave the bike a wash , then had a soak in a hot bath with a well earned drink. It was great to be back on the bike. The poor thing's been getting ignored lately.
We did well with the weather. Not a bad day for December and a couple of degrees warmer than last years run, though still chilly as hell. We even had some dry stretches of tarmac on the way home.
Well done to RamJam for letting a FordKa cut across 2 lanes and slot in 3 inches in front of him just after the Forth Road Bridge.
Big, big, big, big thanks go to Appollo's wife & kids for letting us invade their home. That was a good way to end the day and set the troops up for the run home. It was well appreciated. We now know that there's 2 Applollos. One's a big hairy attention seeker that likes his tummy being rubbed……….and the other is a cool German Shepherd. …..anyway, East Kilbride might not be as handy as Leuchars was yesterday, but I'll throw my doors open after the February Largs run for anyone that wants to kick back for an hour or two and have a bite to eat before heading home.
Thanks to all that made it yesterday :salut:.
Have a great Xmas.

Aha!
