mine curvy sound just like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBb__oK4OcU

is this the normal tensioner sound u guys are talking about? sounds more like cam chain slapping sound, kinda freaking me out.

or is that perfectly normal and the noise will be eliminated once the tensioner tighten itself?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the common CCT needs replacing.

I'd want to investigate that. Please don't start the bike up again until you've had a chance to get at the cam chain tensioners and check whether they're working. It's always hard to tell precisely what a noise is on a recording, but the tensioners, especially the front ones are known to stick.

Welcome to the forum ;)

assuming the tensioner is sticking, is there any way to quick fix it? i seen afew posts and threads on reseting the tensioner

so there is this bolt just beside the frame, under the airbox, where we could get the bolt out, and underneath it was the screw to reset the tensioner right? will it fix my issue?

so how do i go around about it? do i just remove the bolt, and get a flathead screw and twist it clockwise all the way? and what happen next? how do i release it so the tensioner will jump back and tighten the camchain back?

That is not healthy, you will need a fairly short screwdriver to get in there.

Sorry to hijack this thread (slightly) but Ive got the same problem.
Put new oil and filter in yesterday but still getting the same noise though not all the time, comes and goes.
Just back from local garage who said its a problem with cam chain tensioner.
If I take it to the nearest Suzuki dealer (Cupar Fife) how much are we talking about to get sorted, and as OP said can you adjust it easily youself ie keeping the engine in one piece?

You can't adjust it, but you can reset it. You just wind it back then let it ping back into place.

Where is this screw Chris

Inside tensioner.

Look on left side of engine, it is on the inside of the V on the cylinder head casting. Bit of a pain to get to, but you can do it with engine in frame easy.

Will give it a go.

Worth doing a search on here for photos and threads about this. Also good information on the main site FAQs

Good article.
Ive got the top bolt unscrewed from the tensioner and can get a 3mm precision screwdriver into the slot but cant get it to turn clockwise.
Dont know if the head of the screwdriver is locating properly in the tensioner slot as i cant see inside it.
What size of screwdriver is best to fit or is my tensioner knacked.
Should I be able to turn the screwdriver easily?
