Just booked my car test and i NEEDED to get one for before the 27th and guess when the earliest test is? bloody 2nd of december. Why wouold there be a 6 week waiting list???? just when I need one so now im going to have to check every day and try and get one earlier or im screwed

Yep, I had the same problem. Had a six week wait when I booked, but I checked in 3 times a day on the website and luckily got one sooner, a 2 week wait was all I had.

So all I can say is keep checking and good luck.

Yeah !!! Do it on a Tuesday mate. The schools bulk buy and then you have to cancel a minimum of 3 days or lose your money so they all cancel on Tuesday for Saturdays tests. x

Don't work like that anymore. A practical test can't be booked without a theory test certificate number so block booking is impossible now.

The waiting list is down the the DSA clamping down on overtime so weekend and evening tests are very hard to come by, meaning a longer wait for weekday tests (although to be honest, in the 5 years I've been an instructor, 6 weeks has been the average waiting time).

6 weeks is to long :( Im going to have to rely on some one cancelling or thats two jobs I cant apply for :@

Like the others say, keep checking the DSA website as cancellations happen all the time.

I can but I never bothered doing my test because i never needed it i have the bike. I was going to do my test this time last year, got a car and the lot but I just never got round to it. The only reason im looking to do my test now is because a few of the jobs im wanting to apply for need a full drivers license. Never needed it before for driving around farms and fields :(
