http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll72/CazzaD/Viney01.jpg
...he won't be able to lead us in the usual fashion - but will hopefully meet up with us in Brighton.
When: Saturday 24th October
Where: Meet at Box Hill (http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=517131&y=152086&z=106&sv=517131,152086&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=595&ax=517131&ay=152086&lm=0) car park (meet 11am, depart 11:30am)
Why: The clocks go back tonight, so it's the last rideout of the 'summer'
What: Ride motorbicycles down to Brighton (via some wiggly roads) and have some yummy fish & chips on the seafront
Who: Everyone, it will be a comfortably-paced bimble, not a flat-out blat.
***This is weather-dependant - so please check this thread the night before for confirmation that it's going ahead***
I've not organised the route yet - but if you can't make the main rideout, and you want to meet up with us in Brighton, then let me know and I can give you an estimate of our arrival time on the seafront once I've worked out a route.
Hope to see lots of you there!

Hi Guys and girls,
Not met any of you before but I'd love to come along if that's cool. Not getting out on the bike often enough these days.
Fingers crossed for the weather!

I quite fancy turning up- got to get a new front tyre on Saturday morning, though and Friday is payday- so I might be either hung over, or just waiting for the tyre to be done!

Ah, i was wondering about this only the other day!
Unfortunately, I'm a no as I'll be in sunny Malaga. And Mike is doing his theory test that day so maybe you'll get us both next time!

Ah! Balls!!
I was just thinking it bust be about time for this and that I haven't done a rideout this year...
Unfortunately, I shall be in Portugal...
...In a beautiful, huge villa with a load of Marshalling mates, about 10 miles down the road from Portimao!
Ah well - I'll hopefully see you lot some time soon!

Very poor effort. For your info, the 2010 edition will be on the weekend of 30th / 31st Oct - so put it in your diaries now. None of these "Portugese hockey match in Spain in the middle of a river for someone's birthday during half term" excuses will be allowed. ;)
Lucas - there's nothing like a load of autumnal fresh air to clear out a hangover!

Of course Nick, everyone's welcome.
Please do check back here on Friday night though, as if it's going to be raining for a large part of the day then I'll probably postpone it.

I have been looking at the weather;
http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2695
It says for saturday rain:( but Sunday looks better that is right now.
If the weather is bad saturday, can it be moved to sunday?
Yes I should be able to make it.
If the weather is bad saturday, can it be moved to sunday?
Absolutely. But not with me leading it I'm afraid, as I'll be working.
I'll put a post up on Friday evening to confirm what's happening. The forecast is indeed sh*te at the moment... but then they said that about today for our trip to Wales - and we barely felt a speck of rain all day.
Fingers crossed!

Nope, just done my aquatic rideout thanks.
Cheers Mark.
No worries, I know Mark is fed up of hearing about this, but I have waterproof socks!
See you there unless it's moved :)
Time change:
Meet at 12:30pm, depart 1:00pm.
This is in an effort to avoid the morning's rain (and give some of us a lie-in in the morning... and me a chance to plan the route!).
For those who've not been to Box Hill before, or met us, our traditional gathering place is at one of the picnic tables in front of Ryker's (the cafeteria). I'll be on a blue Triumph TT600; Spiderman is on a red pointy SV650S; Jambo has loads of bikes to choose from, so who knows...
If anyone wants my mobile number just in case then please PM me.
It won't be a long ride, just a nice little bimble to the seafront, so hopefully the slightly later start won't really matter.
We'll be parking up at Madeira Drive here (http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=531516&y=103825&z=110&sv=531516,103825&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=601&ax=531516&ay=103825&lm=0), if anyone wants to meet us down in Brighton. I'll guess it will be around 3:30pm.
Look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
Wow big letters. I'll be there, just got a new set of tires to slowly scrub in.
I've PM-ed and texted all who've said 'yes' and 'maybe' to try and establish exactly who is and isn't coming - some have changed their minds but told me directly, rather than posting.
***Cancelled***
The weather's decidedly iffy and the turnout was going to be rather compact and bijou... so I've taken an executive decision.
Thanks to everyone who was up for coming - I think we'll have more fun on a drier day and with the customary larger turnout.
I've done my best to contact everyone via text / PM to let them know - and I'm hoping that any others will check here again before departing anyway.
Enjoy the warmth & dry of staying at home. :D

Hopefully I'll be about for the next ride- the season's only over when we say it is! (except for the summer only bikers- get some warm gear and get out there!).
Probably a good thing really- don't think the roads are right for scrubbing in a new front tyre...!
So- I've crawled back into a dressing gown to enjoy my saturday off!

well it was never going to be cold enough for snow, and what's a SELKENT end of session without snow :smt102
Cheers Mark.
