i've recently only noticed that my o/s front disc gets considerably hotter than my n/s disc. thinking there might be an issue, needed a proper clean anyway, i took both calipers off, dismantled them and re-fitted them. they feel great but still the n/s is cooler than the other.
is this common??

Check the disc isn't warped.. When you took them apart did you check the movement of the pistons?

pistons moved freely and there no abnormal juddering when braking that might suggests warping, will check that though. cheers dave.

Aye, I suspect you'd notice if it was warped. Those were the only things I could think of; i.e funny shaped disk rubbing or caliper dragging.

When you say you took it apart do you mean you took the pistons out? So the system's been bled up and seals checked?

I take it its an SV?If so they are sliding calipers so one half of the caliper moves in and out as the brake goes on and off.Check that the one that gets hot still slides,as if it doesnt the brake will bind.

Clean the shoite out of the bore that the rubber slider sits in. These rot inside and pinch the rubber onto the sliding pin.
