View Full Version : Obtaining permission...
...yes, mighty .orgers. I really really want to go to Holland (or Belgium) next year to see 'Within Temptation....(goth Rock combo fronted by the gorgeous Sharon wotshername)...
I've already suggested to 'er indoors about a trip together, just for one night...but she turned it down flat. Apparently we can't get a babysitter:confused:, not that we've asked or anything...only suggested it tonight. So I said "Okay then, just me!" Oddly she poo-poo'd that idea as well.
I need convincing reasons/bribery ideas (sinister plots may be considered as a last ditch alternative)...

yep blue is right the one for one is the way ahead but tbh its normally one for two ,eg her and her mate you pay for while you get 1 day of freedom (because she will say she dont want to go to spa on her own) its a simple cost reward equasion after that

Well considering er indoors is actually living it up in the Caribbean right now, I don't feel the need to ask anyones permission to do anything.
However if I did need permission. Well I suppose I would have to give her one and then tell her what I was going to do. She would be so grateful for the former she would relent on the later.
Put your foot down, with a firm hand, and tell her you are going you big Jessie.
"Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen."
Must dash, got to finish the vacuuming so i can get the shops...

org babysitters? I'm sure someone down there must have a topbox
JUst tell her to F**k off and you are going anyway, she has no right to deny you something you want to do for just one day.
Honestly you shouldent have to ask permission.
Hmm, have had similar discussions... you've tried the nice way, so now just do your own thing.

What neio said, however if you want to wake up with your johnson still attached then I suggest going with DP's idea.
She lets you go amsterdam with a mate to watch concert get stoned etc...
the following weekend you watch the kids while her and a mate go on a weekend doing something they want to do. (Obviously an offer to pay her way for her trip will only sweeten the deal).

Tell her you are going. I don't think it's unreasonable.

A lucky woman indeed.
I think she is thinking a bit deeper, maybe she is concerned what you will get up to, bloody women are difficult to understand (never will get them, stopped trying and I am one).
Spa day sounds the way forward though or even you could try and arrange a babysitter? There are always small factors that she would have thought about that wouldn't have crossed your mind, but keep at it and maybe she will explain why she isn't "allowing" you to go.
Good luck.

You have met my missus. I think I am a brave man
weekend/day away for her at a spa thingy.
I think something along these lines ^^^^ might be the best idea...sneaky sneaky catchy wormy...:smt117...or something...
I see where you're coming from neio however using your method could be costly both mentally and physically...:crutches:
Zobers - good point - if I harp on sufficiently maybe she'll just give in...there's always hope.
Dan - I sometimes actually wish I was you...and I don't even know you...
Ed - fair point and well made - know any good divorce solicitiors?;).
Dave numbers - taking the kids with me...now maybe one of them would not be a bad idea...hmmm...
I reckon Bluefish is the winner...

You got to do whatever you got to do dude, I seen them live in Bristol about 2 years ago for the "Heart of Everything" tour, and they were freaking amazing!
Also, it is Sharon Del Adel... Although, Robert Westerholt is a good guy and freakishly tall.
Send her to a Spa or send her to her parents for some "catch up time" with them
These are good. Cheap and cheerful.

+1. Its nothing crazy that should require a bribe or blackmail?! Just go. She'd be allowed to go and see a band that she likes surely?
(Have you checked out the bird from Epica? :smt060)

girl's eye view:
Why don't you all go? Have a nice day out, put her and kid(s) up in a decent hotel, you go off to your concert for a couple of hours while she orders room service, then have a nice breakfast and go home the following day.
or is that too easy?

I'm sat here pi$$ing myself......:D
...although coolgirl has a very good point....:smt060...however there is often a 'but' in these situations....(no jokes please!!) ...in this case it's the pound signs which may well send my missus into some sort of catatonic shock!!! However again though...it's always worth an ask...especially aas nothing's been spent yet...
if you want that concert badly enough u'll find the dollars
