Hi,
I've just purchased my first SV650, it's a K8 model and was raced this year.
I'm looking for general advice, which tyres to use (it's currently got Pirelli Supercorsas fitted), tyre pressures (wet and dry), track gearing etc.
Basically as much info as possible would be appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
Sam

So, you want all the kind MiniTwin racers on here to tell you how to set your bike up to be competitive?
They are all friendly and will no doubt be along anytime soon to give advice... there is quite a few on here, some pretty competitive too.

Hi Sam,
Welcome along fella, you'll love the SV, ace to ride!!!
Gearing wise start with 15-45 and go from there,
Anglesey coastal - 15-46
Anglesey GP - 15-45
Three sister - 15-46
Mallory - 15-45
Pembrey - 15-46
Olivers mount - 15-45
Darley moor - 15-45
Brands indy - 15-46
NW200 - 16-42
Ulster gp 16-44
Get me drift????
Super corsa's work really well on them, you'll be hard pressed to find a faster tyre, cold pressures start at 30 front 30 rear.
Wets, either Dunlops or Pirelli's, I find the Bridgestones feel very loose on the SV, so have stuck with the pirellis:
Front - 31 (cold)
Rear - 30 (cold)
Not sure on the Dunlop pressures...sorry.
Who's bike was it?

Thanks for the advice.....keep it coming.
The bike was raced in Scotland by Cameron Wilson, he won the championship. It's a really nice bike, but racing 4-strokes is new to me....I've grown up on 2-strokes!!
Looking forward to getting out on her.....
Cheers,
Sam

There ain't nothing wrong with crashing. It's a very under rated horror to go through.
It's how you learn more. :smt079

Are you racing in the Scottish championship then Sam ??
Excellent bike BTW. It was a good bike to buy. ;)
I race with the NEMCRC and Melville next year....
