Hope you've got onto the bank ASAP. Mine are pretty good at spotting any dodgy activity. The called my wife after she'd booked a holiday, as the transaction was unusual
Not nice :(

Just do what i do.... be broke all the time. That really annoys the card cloning buggers
Good avatar btw.
I know so many people that have been done... hope you get it sorted pretty quick.
I am always so careful at cash machines, in shop with my pin and NEVER let it out of my site... infact I'm pretty OCD about my cards... mainly because I'm tight and the thought of someone having my money makes me furious.

Your pin is not that important tbh cos the crooks wont be using it that way.
My cloned card was being used in malaysia where they still use the old style card machines with a signature and carbon paper.

Contact ya bank and they WILL repay it, they will have a fraud investigation team. They may ask you to inform the Police but depends on ya Police's policy.
Staffs won't investigate as the banks already do their own investigation.
You will get it back just takes time.
I have one word for them and it starts and ends in T and has WA in the middle

Its the scanners at cash machines and in dodgy shops that I'm most keen for.
Only ever seen one and that was on a machine in london.

Ohhh you would not believe how they clone your cards .... even high street shops have dodgy employees.
ATM machines are being targetted big at the moment, I have watched CCTV of little devils tampering with the ATM's even caught 4 in action :) they travelled from London to Midlands.
There are so so many ways and you would not expect it to happen.
I have been done 3 times and I know what to watch for :( not good !

Had a spate of it in the town I work recently. Buggers never caught as they were typically trvelling criminals.
I always check machines for anything obvious but unfortunately, criminals of this type are normally one step ahead....!

I had my card stolen a while a back, but I didn't bother telling anyone because they where spending less than the Mrs.
:(
Was it debit card or credit card?
My debit card got cloned at a petrol station pin as well and they tried to use it in Australia, luckily for me it was just a try and they didnt take anything and the bank phoned me and stopped it straight away.
Worst bit was the week wait for a new card and pin, no money for a week :(
Good luck getting it all sorted.

Yup, will take time. Been a month now since Citi stopped a transaction hitting my account from a shop in Thailand but the crooks took a small amount from an ATM as a test first. So far none of the declaration paperwork has shown up to get the ATM transaction removed from my bill and their unhelpful call centre refuse to put me through to the fraud department direct.
Interestingly I had used a petrol station I normally never use and a friend used the same one (she almost never uses her card). She was hit at the same time suggesting it's the petrol station. I now use my card only when I absolutely have to and in big places like supermarkets, where it's more difficult for one rogue employee to tamper with the equipment.

Who cares about the card, lets see some more avatars
Petrol station near me did me a few months back, was a shell garage.

In the event of your card being cloned and you are asked to destroy it, you can still get money at a branch with a piece of ID. That's what I did.

But TBH, very few people would want to carry cash around for a week. I tend to use my card for everything, which opens me up to liability for card fraud I know, but, my wallet gets nicked, I have a few bob in there, I'll be really p1ssed off (I'm a tight wadd y'see).
Folks, really try not to use credit and especially debit cards in petrol stations, they are dire places for scams. There have been half a dozen petrol stations round here which have repeatedly had spates of card fraud. I had one occasion when they didn't want to give me change for a £20 note when filling the bike, and they wanted me to use a credit card (I said take it or leave it, I've offered to pay, if you don't want cash I'll be on my way, they then took the cash).
I still don't understand why we can't opt for chip&pin use only on our cards, at least it would stop the far east "magnetic strip" fraudsters which seem to account for a lot of the scams.

Shell station done me as well
I suspect my problem was Shell based as well. Ironically they cloned my Shell credit card...
It's a nuisance when you're so used to using a card all the time to revert back to cash but I'd rather have a few quid on me and know I'M looking after it than let some thief in Thailand help themsleves!!
