I appear to have left my mobile phone in the pocket of my leathers which have gone back to Yorkshire with YC and as a result I will be in Wales without it until saturday night. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr! :smt101

P.S. just kidding Mr Wolf....hmmm maybe not on second thoughts, us idiots should stick together eh? :-P

you can live without a mobile for a night or 2, its not idiocy in any way. its freedom.

Well done.

I'm sure he won't check all your messages either ;)

Anyway - I am the biggest idiot on here tonight, as for the 1st time in my adult life, I ran out of juice on my bike on the way home - DOH!

Left work with the light just having stopped blinking and was permanently on. Rode past all the garages on the way out of Mancland, thinking I'd easily make it to Haydock to fill up.

Got as far as the M62/M6 junction and as I joined the M62, the bike started to cut-out :(.

Luckily I managed to get to a truck garage just off the M-way and as luck would have it, the nice foreman gave me a few jugfuls of unleaded out of a jerry can they keep round the back.....along with a shedful of track bikes! Struck lucky there!

So £5 lighter I made my way to Haydock.

(Footnote: the bike had done 199.7 miles before conking out)

It's not the having to do without a phone that's annoying, it's the not knowing if Chris has got home ok actually

;)

And the fact I've arranged to meet up with friends this week and that's the only number they've got me on. Never mind, I can cope with being stood up :-P

Gees if my right arm was chopped off getting used to my left would feel like a first date :smt002

Anyone have their phone in their trouser pocket all the time and then if you leave it on the side or something you have a constant feeling of something is 'wrong'?

yup. But as my textile gear has smaller non-waterproof pockets in the trousers, it ends up in the inner jacket pocket which i can't "feel". Hence i tend to leave it lying around when biking.

Sounds like a bad idea, I'd leave your phone on the side of the road in Wales and you'd take my keys back to Yorkshire:smt037:p

oh and guess what blonde thing I did.

I rolled off the M62 at Hudds, rode down the slip road round the roundabout, and cause I'm as blind as a bat, rode straight back on the 62.......but it was dark, and I was tired and it was a bit nippy!

Oh my goodness i think you've got point there, we should never cross paths again!!!

Was lovely to meet you today though, although I can't say my first impression of them Dakars is overly good what with all the riding through puddles horizontally and having to be bumpstarted down slopes :-P

I quite like them, wouldn't mind seeing what they can do on the road with some proper tyres.
