Ok so first off I must apologise for cancelling the last planned weekend.
Especially to Gracie who lost her train ticket fare as a result (sorry hon)
However I think it was the right thing to do as it ended up being just before the funeral.
So now I have a few dates to put on the cards, the one that gets the most votes will be the weekend it will go ahead.
I will ask that if you vote then unless something dire happens then you honour your commitment otherwise it may affect someone else's vote that would have turned up.
The new dates are up and the ones which have (+ Friday) on them means that there is an option of going into London on Friday afternoon for a shopping spree and possibly meet up with the Soho Massive afterwards and then maybe dinner somewhere.

I think next year is better now what with the expence of Christmas coming up. Also it will be a touch better weather? Hopefully lol.

Yes but I guess if everyone wanted to meet up just for the Saturday in November this year and do the hair and make up and the pastie classes and the other bits and grab a take away and just have a social evening for a laugh it might be a mini get-together so to speak.
Then in March, we can have a big proper one with the shopping and rideout?
Thoughts on this girls?

Unfortunately I'll have to give it a miss because I'll be into the last couple of months of writing my MPhil thesis by then and I'll be working non-stop to get it done by the end of march :( If there's anything else planned later next year I'd be well up for it cos it all sounds like a huge amount of fun and it'd be great to meet you all.

VT - Our Leave is still being discussed for next year and I certainly have none between now and then but as soon as I know if I can make any of the above dates, I'll let you know.
can do the nov and march dates, voted for the march date, but can only do the friday from after work time :) i.e. meet up in soho etc.

cant do the january and feb ones as its around exams. would rather do november than march as march is 5/6 months away but i voted for both so whatever is best. agree with purple vamp about it being better weather for a rideout in march.

I have new shoes and make up ready to wear, and they've told me that they absolutely definitely can't possibly wait til March! :smt061
Plus I'm really looking forward to meeting the other girls as well and having a bit of a girlie get together. So I'm def up for the idea of doing something in November, and then we could have a bigger event when more people can make it in March. And I might even have got enough money together by then to buy some more lovely outfits to wear :D

PS. The only dates I can't do are the two late January weekends, as will be in Oz, so purlease don't make it then!

Ok well its looking like a Girly Sleep-over is going to be a definate on the 21st November and if anyone wants to come to London on Friday afternoon then that can be catered for too as I will be off that day. Im not too fussed if its just a few of us for this, will be fun anyway.
Looking good for March according to the voting, hopefully will be warmer then and so we will get the photographers and rideout organised for that too as per the original weekend plan.
Can't wait to see you all again!!

Yes there was a cop in there the last time Fizzy and I went and yes he was in uniform.
They had caught a shoplifter, he was there taking a statement and oggling Fizzy Fish as I cinched her into different corsets.
She kept whinging but he was just saying 'looks fine to me, looks fine to me' ..lol his eyes were on stalks!
I just KNOW he went back to the nick later and said to the rest of the team 'today has been one of those days that I just LOVE my job'

Ladies i'm not going to vote as i will try and tie in with whatever dates you say - alot depends on transport etc etc and seeing as i still feel like carp i doubt i'll bike it down so it will be planes or trains for me

Thats no problem, the November date is just going to be a girly sleepover, no photos no bikes no rideout, just us, tarted up talking about 'stuff' and having a drink (not me as Im teetotal but someone has to look after the rest of you) and a laugh and then going home at their leisure on the Sunday.
I will be able to fetch people from the station if need be.
As for the 'main event' looking like it will be in March.

Sorry but I just hate the taste of any alcohol, tried most things, all yucky, just cant bring myself to drink it, but then you have seen what Im like sober, so probably best I dont drink...ye Gods! Imagine it!

The Ex has swapped nights so that he is having the children on Saturday. Other half has just informed me he intends to go out on the **** and doesn't want me along for the ride. Bliddy cheek.
So I am not only child-less but partner-less. Have the choice of doing something local with ma homies or coming up to play with you lot?? I have read through the thread and really not grasping the whole thing. Is it basically a girls night of dressing up and doing hair and make-up?

VT came up with the rather splendid idea to get forum girls together who are interested in Burlesque - but don't worry if you don't know much about it/have all the gear, as quite a few of us don't!
There's a main event in March where we're hoping to have lots going on, tutorials, photo, etc. This one is a smaller event (to tide us over as we couldn't wait til March!) and is about us getting together for a nice girlie weekend, sharing tips and ideas, trying stuff out, learning more about burlesque and having some nice pics done too if you like :D
PM VT if you want to join us, she will give you details, and ideas of things to bring along. Would be nice to have you along!

What's the Christmas Show btw?
The christmas show is essentially a demonstation of most of the classes held this term by Dancehouse. This year its being held at the Grand Ole Opry in Glasgow and we need to put some work into it as there is only 6 of us and i'm at the front of the stage. We're doing a paraody of the Red Shoes ballet. Looking forward to it mnd you!

Amanda, yes its a late morning start and overnight sleepover, with the girls leaving on Sunday morning.
It will include makeovers with hair and make up being done then if you want we have our .org photographer who will be along later in the afternoon to take some snaps of us in our glad rags with our hair and make up done.
Should be fun, we are going to order Chinese and for those who have a tipple, a few drinks.
Chatting,sharing of ideas and discussion of all things burlesque, pin up and girly shall occur.
Like I said the other day, its a sleepover party for grown up girls.

Basically we are going to meet tomorrow at around 10am then do hair, have lunch and then do make up and dress up. Bring whatever you want photos taken in even if its not anything burlesque this is strictly a fun night for us all and we will be doing the proper burlesque weekend in March.

Unfortunately no bum shots but eagerly awaiting the pictures of the night from Rictus.
Fizzy Fish and I are holding his tea sweetners and mobile phone to ransom until they are online lol!
He was a gem, we finished up at 04:30 hrs this morning and he decided to go to Exmoor from here...mental I tell you!!
Had a great time, yesterday we went shopping, out for lunch then back for hair cutting and colouring.
Had a wonderful chinese take away and chatted and later on we did make up and hairstyling and then dressed up for piccys.
Girls, you are such a great bunch it was a pleasure to have you round and we will definately be awaiting that invite for the Rocky Horror Picture Show Dinner Party, should be a blast.
You all looked AWESOME, cant believe how the time flew by...Thanks for everything I really enjoyed that, cant wait to do it again.
Haha Mr VT just said that he got home from his mate's place yesterday to find that the house looked like a branch of Selfridges!
