Dukedolph will be attending this, if we're not iced in again this year! :(

Anyone else planning to come along to help make Christmas a happier time for kiddies in hospital? :D

Lissa

What do you have to do?

Lissa
22-10-09, 07:08 PM
What do you have to do?

You just buy a present or two for kiddies who will be in hospital at Xmas, bring them along, and enjoy the ride to deliver them. :D

They don't have to be huge presents, although it's preferred you don't bring cuddly toys.

This year the run is apparently going to Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Yeah i could be up for a bit of that.

Nice one! Wearing a Santa suit over your bike gear isn't obligatory, but adds to the occasion. :D

This was us on the SV.

The rides aren't very quick, but people line the streets to watch, the police tend to stop traffic for us, and it's all a good laugh for a good cause!

Win win.

I think i'd be interested, according to google maps the finish (which i'm sure u sed was in leicester) is 60miles from me in Chesterfield, Derbys.

But where would the start be?

And I'm guessing it's free to do it (toys and fuel asside)

The start is Mallory Park, which Google reckons is about 50 miles from Chesterfield.

Yes, it's free to do. ;)

I presume the presents need to be wrapped and tagged saying whether they are for girls or boys?

Looking forward to this now, just got some tinsel to decorate the zx6/7 (depending on weather) :)

Will have to be a no show on this. My shoulder still isn't great since ripping a muscle. Tried the 7 miles to work and that requires pain killers. Think riding out that far would require treatment and a bed at the hospital :-(.

Hi folks, I'm in the newbie category here and not sure how I'll stick with the social networking stuff but let's see what follows. I'm guessing you are some of the SV guys I met on the toy run (the Reindeer was awesome?) Riding a silver-blue fully faired 56 reg SV which I've had for 6 months (and the guy following is just getting used to the engine breaking.)
Any of you East Midlanders braving the Brass Monkey (TheVic, Coalville midday ish on 2nd Jan?). Do you local guys (and gals) meet up for runs or whatever?

Hi Les :D

Pete and I were on the reindeer bike, and chatted to a couple of newbie SV-ers. Did we speak to you at Mallory Park, or at the hospital?

We've done The Brass Monkey run for the last couple of years, but haven't decided about this year yet.
