Well the SV is chopped in against a new Buell xb12Ss. Amazing deal down to 4k brand new.... So alls good and can't complain. Anyone in brim want a haynes manual upto 08 sv? Swop it for a bottle of merlot ormedium sweet White. Also offering up a givi box v46 will give a better image of this later and what I want for it.

Lot of bike for the money.
I shall be interested in how you and the Buell fare as I've always had a weakspot for them. But not weak enough to ever take the plunge!
When is the anticipated arrival?

Get it on Thursday - should be in the dealler Tuesday, then a day to service - check it and then it's mine. It was just therather low price tag. They gave me an offer on my bike, which I refused so they lowered the buell price by another 500 to compensate the low value on mine.
Crash bungs are on the shopping list already along with some form of luggage for taking bits to work.

Will keep you in mind for the box yep you can get 2 lids in (depends on lids) the plate etc i left on the bike with the trade. It's a monokey attachment. I bought the box 18 months ago from a reclaimer. And used through 2 winters, never leaked. As I said before need to work out how much etc and luggage for buell first.

rumor has it harley have asked for money from the US goverment because they may follow buell.
of course harley dont need the money really they want to try and keep buell running but the goverment to pay.

Have the option to sell it..... But no will keep as it seems a very nice bike and it's one of those that has shouted at me since passing my test two years ago...the only other bike would be a triton at the moment - commuting to work would be expensive on that so the buell will do.

Last time Harley sold up the owner brought it back because the buyer did some bad work and gave a harley a poor build quality name so it was brought back recalled all bikes fixed them to be good and fixed the problem, that was a while ago tho.
people may know about buell's fuel in the frame which of course if patterned to buell which as buell go so does this technology for the next 5 years.

The box is going....the givi one that is v46 monokey. It is well used dailey through winters etc. It currently has a silver lid. You can buy other colours if your vein also you can get back rest for pillion break lights which turn the reflector into rear/ break lights. As I said it is well used lots of minor scratches. It is still water tight! 1 key. Inner straps need replacing as I broke one. Will add pictures shortly once I'm at a pc. Asking £65 here will shove on eBay for £75 buy it now by the weekend.
Also remembered I have vstrom hand guards and mounting stuff to fit pointy sv not sure about curvey. Again used slight scratches 90% sure all bolts etc are there £10.

Their fault or your decision?

Sort of theirs - prefer to be on bike than writing essay's. They haven't received it in a delivery yet...I checked to see if it was royal mail, luckily not. Its been slower than normal practice I have been told due to the large volume of bikes been sold last week. They dealer in Aston was talking of nearly 30 bikes in 1 weekend. Amazing what a half price sale can do! Hope it is with me before Monday so I can go back to school on it and be the really cool teacher! if not the sv will still be making that journey.
Rest assured though once I get it, photos will be up here. Just deciding on luggage options, can't carry back packs for long periods so its either a tank or tail pack. May get a kriega us10 for making sure things are dry and something else for bulky stuff like books etc.

well first thoughts....quick...sticks to the road and my gosh it's nice to ride. Getting use to the harley shake....just keep above 3k rev and smooth as butter....below that and well it shakes.
Bloody loud as well....the after Market cans even though legal are louder! Nice move from sv. Which was practical and fun this is pure fun.
The dealler even gave me first service for free as the bike was two days late getting to me!

Looks nice in the Black, very mean and moody. Shouldn't get any trouble from the kids at school now.:D
It's even got Diablos fitted as standard.
Went over to Midland Superbikes then Sycamore Harley and took a few pics to show what good value your bike was

Not sure this is legal though. Rear brake switch wires cut!

It's mad at the moment, the dealler I got mine from is putting price up on burls as there's only a handful left. Stratstone the biggest franchise for HD are taking deposits for bike their not sure they can get. Many of the remaining bike are having the speedo's changed from kph to mph ones as their taking bikes from Europe.

Well it's had 500 miles put on going to and from work. Been in the back of a HD transit twice! The switch on the side stand went - unplugged so they picked it up and repaired it. The zort went rusty so called then Xmas eve again they picked it up kept it warm until the new year and replaced it. All under warrenty.
Apart from that it's well different to ride than the sv. It's a bit like a diesel car inthe fact you have to show it's whose the boss and not be to light handed with it. Treat it mean and it gets there very quick. Plus I've just hit the magic 500 miles for running the enginee in so I can take it past the 3k revs ( it only goes to 7k revs).
It's now a waiting game for the snow to clear and a few open roads. I need to take it on a long ride to really get a feel for it as the longest it's been is about 20 miles accross the Birmingham to uni.
Will report more once snow has gone. Have found a really good supplier of crashbobins on eBay. Made me a set to fit the bike, ended up free of. Charge ad the first set front and back axle sliders didn't fit, so full refund and new set dispatched.

Seeing as how we never got to meet at the weekend Larigos, how's the Buell going?
larigos
30-03-10, 08:55 PM
The buell is great! Now the roads have been drier I can start to find its true ability. It does stick to the roads and turns so quickly - have to be careful I don't overstear or forget how fast I'm going. The wheel has lifted Agee times off the lights on the tyburn road, only a fraction of an inch no full on wheelies yet.
Things I want to change are the seat, a little bit wide for me and the indicators are also on the list along with a longer fly screen, 85 mph my head felt like it was being ripped off!
Don't think it's a keeper but for the next year or so it will put a grin on my face everytime I go out. It's not as practical for comuting as the sv was, but i'd prefer to grin at the end of the ride than be practical!

I'm looking for a nice XB12S/SS/SCG/STT now...
I'd love a black one with black frame & wheels etc!
I used to think my KTM handled well 'til i test rode a Buell!
Fingers crossed, hopefully I'll be back on two soon ;)

Check out ukbeg.com similar to here but alot smaller.
Buells are nice but be aware of rusting cans and the cost of parts! There's also a split between the older tube frames xb's and the new water cooled rotax engines.
Read the forums, but go with what u like.

Hopefully I'll get one that someone has already put all the trick bits on; then I won't have to worry about rusty cans etc...
They sound the mutts with a aftermarket exhaust on :smt049

Not with those headers - they only go that color by running the bike at high revs without it warming up. Plus accademy bikes are not treated to well.
You could buy the black one as above and change the plastics wheels etc with someone who wants all black.
