£150 but extras make it up to £209. I am again please that A-quote specifically state the recovery service will recover in the event of an accident and the bike is unridable.

I had found slightly cheaper, but the recovery option was not to my satisfaction and stupid excess. A-quote it is £250 compulsory with 0 voluntary.

Happy not, I had to spend my beer tokens. But then again I could have been far worse.

Thats a bargain mate, paid mine this morining on my SV650 with a gsxr front end fully comp with no no claimes £200. Is your GSXR a 600? Would love to get one but always thought the insurnace would be too much. :smt107

Just paid £350 fc on the RR, including euro cover, breakdown and accident recovery.

My renewal was going to be £289 tpft too, spoke to them and got better cover and lower excess for only a few quid more!

surprised you say that, as at the end of the day they are only brokers. My insurance is actually with Norwich Union - Aviva. Daft thing is they are damm expensive if I go direct.

I've been looking at insurance for the SV with a GSXR front end, custom paint and Elka shock (still not actually sorted it yet though) got a quote from Carole Nash and they wanted £270 FC cheapest so far is £107 FC from MCE which isn't too bad considering the state of my licence!

Ah , my apologies gracie, was not implying other ppl are old jus a statement on how newer young riders are ripped off. any tricks you used to get yours down? Or is it simply a case of no claims n experience in the eyes of the insurer?

i'm over the 21 mark, held my licence for over a year, will (hopefully) have 1yrs ncb by the time i take out my new policy, and now i can say i've had a year's riding experience on a 600cc bike. and im a girl. and i live in a place where the biggest crime i'd heard of was the local chavs stealing hubcaps off an old man's fiesta, lol!

and im a girl.

Seems like a rather extreme measure to take just to get cheaper insurance.

I find the biggest factor for my insurance is where the bike is kept, my insurance wanted £1800 to keep the bike in Birmingham city centre, I ended up paying £280 to keep it outside the city in a garage.

My insurance for my curvy SV was £275 3pf&f, but, that was with no n.c.b, but, being over 21 at 24.

I was quoted £400 for full-comp, but, didn't expect to have my bike much after my first year... To which I am being proven right, ha ha

I would say you got a good deal there

Ye, well im up 21 with no no claims as of yet (which is never good when trying to get insured on the cheap!) Altho, my bike was kept in a garage outside of small town centre, yet the price didnt increase when moved down to plymouth when the bike is no longer in a garage and is in city centre, which i thought abit odd.

It depends on the area to which you are moving, my car insurance went up when I moved from a NP post code to a CF one as Cardiff has more reports of car crime (not obviously taking into account the size of the CF postal code area and population within said code compaired to the NP post code...)

Idiots!

Ye moved from small town (GU) to large city centre uni campus (PL) with no change in location price on insurance. Dont get me wrong, its a good thing, just doesnt make much sense when they wont increase price when moving to a much more "risky" location for my bike to be parked yet will charge a huge amount just because im young.

What I was trying to say was that the GU post code might have a higher crime rate then the PL. Most of the PL post code is country-side consisting of South Devon west of Exeter and quite a bit of south-east Cornwall, so, not much vehicle crime there...

So, the fact it is in the road rather then a garage might be counteracted by the decrease in crime, so, the price stays the same
