To set the scene, tonight I made the same asian chicken noodle soup that I made at this years AR. We are sat around the table, me, Stretchie, Squirrel_Hunter and MBK.
We eat the soup with chopsticks, to get the noodles and chicken and all was going great...UNTIL:-

Squirrel_Hunter: **** this, i can't eat it with chopsticks anymore!

MBK: So you pick up a fork instead???

I guess maybe you had to be here......but seriously, soup with a fork???

MBK was super quick.......this is all of course after she got rid of the giggles!

So...how are your evenings going???

Oh, and have any of you been to Greece?:smt043

Re-Greece,about 40 times by various routes
1] Germany,Austria,Yugo all the way down
2] What used to be DDR,Rumo and Bulgi into Thessalonica
3] Italy and ferry to Patra
4] One of the above to Athens then ferry to CYPRUS

GP Circuit from Gliffada into Athens past the airport and water slide, know it well as I always stayed at the Seven Kings Hotel at the weekends.

Question?--------Why eat soup with chop sticks, was it served in a basket?:)

-Ralph-
25-10-09, 10:49 AM
I take it he'd finished trying to get the chicken and noodles out then (for which a fork would be more useful than chopsticks), and was now trying to finish the soup...?

Yes GG, you set it up completely wrong.

Ideal solution----Hollow chopsticks that you can use like a straw:)

No, I haven't
Yes, I'd love to thanks for offering ;)

They'd get blocked up with noodles
Not if you used them to eat the noodles FIRST then sucked up the soup...hmmm seems to be a niche in the market *runs off to start 'chopstraw' company

GG if this was the same soup you brought to AR then hell i'd have eaten it with a toothpick if i had to :) mmmmmmmmmmmmm

And i did the greek islands years ago...the easy way. Hire a small yatch with a crew, get 15 of your mates and off you go. The crew would sail us overnight to a new island so everyday we'd wake up someplace new. Some where so small they had no real harbours and we had to dive off the boat and swin in to shore and find a place to have brekkie, or lunch, depending on how heavy the night before had been lol.

Great way to see the islands :)

Yep, this is a great way to do it, but I did it the busman's holiday way and went as crew. First you do an RYA certification that allows you to crew, then act as crew with a qualified skipper who is usually one of the instructors from your training. So if you rent a yacht and find the crew are all British students travelling on the cheap, sleep with your life jacket on! ;) Actually that was about 16 years ago, so maybe with all the insurance requirements now they are probably forced to hire experienced Greek crew.

Re-Sailing holidays, these are done on several levels. We had a yacht master ocean and I am yacht master[RYA] so when we had the morning briefing the only thing we were interested in was which Taverna were we to be at that night. We just pleased ourselves what we did during the day and arrived to moor up with the flotilla at night.
The one thing I would say is try to get the biggest boat with the least people on it
as 6 on a 6 berth is rather snug and sailing is no longer a cheap holiday

Ok, so the "Greece" talk explanation is...

When I was in school all them years ago, the boys used to ask the girls if we had been to Greece. I never had, so I always said no and oh boy was I lucky. The poor girls that said yes got a whole load of ribbing because according to the boys, if you had been to Greece...it meant something rude. That is all.

So, after asking MBK this question...to which she replied "NO" luckily, we started asking others. This has become a silly but amusing thing to me, MBK, Stretchie, Squirrel_Hunter and the Vipers.

I thought I'd see what you lovely orgers had to say and then when you found out why...to go back and read your posts for those of you that said yes. I must say, there are some quite amusing ones!!!

I've been waving my big mod stick around too much already this week and its beginning to get sore, so dont make me have to use it on you lot too.

See...i can do innuendo, and u rated innuendo at that so let keep it clean from here on in or its locky locky time.

I've edited my post, but others have quoted it, which means I can't do anything I'm afraid. It was just a little fun and Bluefishman...I have no idea about it normally being Greek not Greece....it was just something silly from childhood.

Was just a bit of fun and clearly missed the mark...oh well! No point in this thread being locked or dying a death if it's broken the u rating.....peeps will need to go and edit the quotes or it will still be there.

Happy day to you all and Spidey, you can wave your mod stick at me anytime! ;-)
