I'd appreciate some help with regards to how much the bike in the pic is worth.

It's being sold by a neighbour who has put it together himself. I'm looking to get s cheap bike to start off and see how we get on. Only going to be used for road riding/parks for I and the dog, as part of a fitness regime.

I have absolutely no clue about pedal bikes so need some help. For all I know, it's a piece of crap  .

Bloke wants £55 :o which sounds a bit much for it really.

Cheers
Ben

It has the ability to have a caliper fitted to the front and rear, I might be able to help there, looks okay to me to start with. Haggle with him for £40.

If it works and all the pads tyres etc are decent then £50 is prob reasonable.
None of the parts are perticularly good. SRAM are a good brand, but its grip shirters which on a mountain bike I think are dumber than dumb. Bars and Headset look decent enough, the rest of it been unbranded doesnt help much But as I said, £50 is fair provided you wont have to go spending a load more on odds and sods.

Apologies guys for not responding sooner.

I paid £55 in the end but had him put a different set of forks on....some Rock Shox Judy Hydracoil :smt102. Looks better than the other ones I all I know

leedsmatt7 frame is a Saracen by the way....not that it means much to me hehe.

Rocks shox are supposed to be ok Ben. Matt rebuilt his Saracen retro and bought a set off ebay, but unfortunately they didn't fit, and he was a bit peeved. Back in the day they were supposed to be the bees knees.

Dizzy, Feels fine to be honest. I just need to find a bit of info about bike forks and then, I'd be taking them apart and rebuilding with a spring set, I believe you can get for them :) .
