I was going to put up an early poll to, but I've been beaten to it! I'm definately coming (well, if others will be there that is!)
Why are you selling your SV Nick? I've read something about Adrian's TL, have you bought that?
Yep.
Are we having it at The Shire or are we looking at a different venue ?

The rumour mill can just shut up right now! I haven't bought nor sold anything. I am saving up for a house deposit and my SV still works fine so I am happy.

I'll be there, but may be taking a trip to Wycombe first....ooooh, more rumors....

Me too. Phill and I are meeting FB at 6 or so, so should be along after that.
If you are going to be in Wycombe first, dare I suggest The Saracens head in Beaconsfield as an alternative venue to see if it is OK?
As we have touched on changing the venue, I thought I would put my neck on the line and make a suggestion.

May turn up too.
Saracens head is a bit of a trek, in fact its the FOT nearly all the way! Still wouldn't mind checking it out though.

Bit of a trek? Isn't it closer for you?? *finds google maps*
Right, as Nick is our current Moderator I think he should make the final decision as to the venue. I am happy to meet anywhere (apart from Oxford) so lets confirm the venue asap.

Good luck with the 4x4s around there! The Parking along that road can be a complete scrum.
What time are you meeting? I've got a late conference call at work (curse our west coast HQ!) but I may be able to stop off on my way home.

Oh yeah.....its closer to London so I assumed its further for me, but its only 44 miles away instead of 49!!
Although I am going to pull the old 'if its raining, I ain't coming' card, so don't wait up.

I'm going to give tonight a miss as it's my housemates birthday, sorry I've not been to a meet for ages, don't take it personally, I'm well aware I owe Sosha and FG1 a drink!
The weather down this neck of the woods has got better as the day has gone on. It's nice and sunny and dry atm. So, get yer ar5es to the Sacracens head....

I am out on the bike already so have no choice haha. PHILL I hope you know where it all is including adrian's house haha. What's all this about on road parking? I didn't check, but I assumed it had a carpark or fg1 wouldn't have suggested it?

My hour long meeting turned into a three hour one so was not able to go. Just got to make some of my US colleagues learn about time differences now to stop this sort of thing happening!!!

How was the pub then?
well when we eventually got there (long story) the pub was fine. a bit more expensive than the Shire but a nice venue and I liked my burger. Parking was OK, but it was on street so you aint guaranteed a place. Boring ride down the M40 too, but TBH that suited me last night as it was COLD!
Warthog
04-11-09, 08:26 PM
I thought the pub was slightly worse: a bit more open, bit more posh. Food was ok price but not a bargainous £10 for two courses like the shire. No real ale either. Its always nice for a change but I think the shire beats it so far. Ride back on the motorway was very quick, but it is getting cold now :(.
