Having a read of the papers today I came across this

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2698896/Police-must-follow-guidelines-set-out-by-force-handbook-and-not-use-certain-terms.html

Then checked another paper and the date to make sure its not April 1st ](*,)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1222813/Whats-Police-say-evenin-more.html

SO from now on I shall be saying "Good 3 Pm" Instead of afternoon and "good 7 Pm" instead of good evening :smt043.

In my honest opinion what a load of c**k and b*ll, these ppl need a damn good shoeing. Do they really think that someone may get offended, from the word Afternoon or Evening

Sorry to any of our finest Police Persons if the use of the word Plod, caused any upsetting thoughts, bad memories or the inability to sleep from the use of this word.

Some of the daftest dictats

' Not Guilty ' Means : You got me bang to rights

Sure there must be one or two more!

Now I didn't see anything in either of those articles that suggested they were concerned the use of the words afternoon or evening may offend someone. They were simply suggesting that their use may confuse someone as what you and I may understand to be "evening" or "afternoon" time may be different to another. The real sadness is that they are actually paying someone to come up with these magnificent observations...!

morning or afternoon or evening, who cares really eh?

Its this bit of thought policing that got on my nerves... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1222861/Pensioner-complained-gay-pride-march-warned-police-hate-crime.html

I think the old lady is talking trash frankly but a hate crime? Oh c'mon, really.

I'd love to know if that old lady has ever eaten shellfish myself.

All these dictats are created by over educated people in the wrong job, with little or no experience of the real world out here.

They feel that they must create something every day, whether it is of any use to you or me in our daily work. Then they present it to their boss, saying look what a good worker I've been today.

The country would save a lot of money by getting rid of these kind of people and letting the workers get on with the job.

My daily email is flooded by stuff that's written in this gobbledegook language, that I then have to decifier and explain to my team.

Rant over :p

Like spidey says who cares

I'm confused, will that be when my morning starts about 06:00 or when my sons does, about 11.30?

I think in all honesty this requires a full working group study to work out exactly what 'Morning' and 'Evening' actually is.

The proposed destinations will be

Maimi - Miami dade Police department
Grenada - Grenadan police department, Carribean
New Zealeand - Auckland police department
New York - Good old NYPD, always up for a giggle.

Now to ensure we are all fit and wekk i propose that we arrive on a monday and hold meetings with the local departments on a Thursday afternoon for a couple of hours and fly back on the nect Monday flight - As long as a Buisness Class BA flight is available.

Please note however that this is restricted to members of ACPO only but is not to be considered a 'Jolly', this will be strident and meaningfull Police work!

PS

This post was, i hope, made in jest, tho knowing ACPO it's probably already in the works!

Don't be daft, any self respecting member of ACPO knows when morning and evenings are.
Mornings are when the sun is in their eyes as they tee off, evening is when they're in the bar.
