Am off to a fancy dress party this weekend, happy to do it as the hostess is having a hard time at the moment and the OH wants to go down to give moral support.

But.... For the life of me I just don't get the appeal of dressing up in cardboard and string and scratching oneself for the rest of the evening. And yet at this time of year everyone is having fancy dress parties.

They are amazing.

Best excuse to make an **** of you'reself and no one cares..

And it gives the girls an excuse to dress up in limited clothing..

Not that they need an excuse normally.. ;)

Aaah, the 'limited clothing' conjecture... In our minds this works well, in reality it is your 60 year-old, 20-stone neighbour in suspenders, and it really doesn't work that well with him.

I think it's fun. The missus and I said if my friend was still throwing his annual Hallowe'en parties we'd go as the Seeker and the Confessor.
