View Full Version : Fixed brake light always on problem today

First post here. (My son just got a 2001 sv650 last week)

We noticed it had a problem with the brake light always on today.

After trouble shooting for an hour I noticed that there is a small piece of rubber on the front brake handle which pushes the front switch. This had moved a little out of place.

When I slid it back, the problem was solved....

Was it an aftermarket lever? I've known some to give this problem unless you violently release the lever.

How nice you actually looked for a physical reason first rather than looking for an electrical one. Good catch :)

Thanks for the welcome...

Well, I did put a meter on the tail light connector first :)
