mmmm, 35 mph behind a car on the A49 between Newton and Warrington, this is a 60 stretch why are they going 35 beeping mph!!! Hang on a minute, I'm not in the cage and am testing out the new purchase .... twist and gone ..... sweet ... bye bye car :p

Thanks to galaxystar for a good sale and thanks for dropping the bike off. My first ride after selling my silver pointy last June was just so much fun, god I have missed that feeling.

First impressions of the bike, well it feels nice, smoother than the pointy I had, maybe a touch slower on the acceleration but that may just be me getting back into the swing of it. The front brakes could do with a service though, they feel spongy, the back brakes feel really sharp which really shows up the difference but nothing that would stop me ridding it. There's an intermittent clanky rattle at idle/low revs, not sure what that is but maybe someone could point me in the right direction and other than that it feels great. As galaxystar said it has some marks on the right so if anyone has a yellow rear and front panel going that'll match let me know. I'll pop something in the wanted forum as well.

Thanks again galaxystar - Top Bloke!

so happy, and just as good, my leathers till fit so i haven't put on as much weight as I thought I had :smt033

Ta Neeja, although you may come to regret that offer lol. I was just going to ask if you or anyone knew if there was a good cheap and friendly mechanic around the area as I'd like to get all the insides checked and fixed as needed and I've never been a big fan of doing my own brakes.

Being honest? If you want someone professional, go to RD5 in the town centre. It's just down the side of Warrington Central near a sex-shop :thumright: They're fantastic, and have a massive sale on clothing at the moment - 20% off everything in stock.

didn't know they did repairs as well, was in there with a m8 the other day, he was getting kitted out for his first big after his test

Yep, mechanic workshop in the back. Their mechanic's awesome - he's only young, but is qualified by Honda and BMW or something - multiple manufacturers at least. Labour's £35/hour, which seems to be cheaper than the £45-£50/hour labour that seems to float around as average here, and he'll get a job done quickly, too.

what's the rates in Sheffield for reference Dave?

Dave20046

£30's the most dear I've been in, £20 an hour at my fave IIRC, decent too

Nice to know thanks, may be able to get a slightly cheaper rate on the back of that info

They're independent shops (reputable long standing ones though) not main stealers.

RD5 isn't a dealer either, there's just a shortage of mechanics around here, so very little competition. Used to be a Wyder Honda around the corner that charged £50/hour, which was undercut by Motobike, which is about £40-ish per hour. Only other place I'm aware of is SPOD, which is run by a pair of ex-REMEs, so they really, really know their stuff, but they charge through the nose for it.

Just been reading up on CC tensioners so will be giving them a twist tomorrow night and see it that curers my rattle, if not they'll be coming out on the weekend to see what's happening

But if the place is convenient for the sex shop, that would clinch it over the price...

Bike looks good:D I like the can:D

Drop the bike in for work, wander down two units to the sex-shop and browse for a while. What's not to like? :thumright:
