London mayor Boris Johnson has rescued a woman who was being attacked by an armed group of young girls, chasing them down the road on his bicycle.

Franny Armstrong called for help as she was surrounded and pushed by the girls, one of whom had an iron bar, in Camden, north London, on Monday night.

The mayor, who was cycling past, stopped and chased the girls down the street, calling them: "Oiks".

I wouldn't have minded a random climate obsessed eco-terrorist sandal eater getting wanged with an iron bar (might knock some sense into her) but I can't help but laugh at the idea of Boris cycling after a gang of "oiks" :smt044

Sadly only a day or so ago some poor guy stood up for his g/f amongst a group of yobs and got beaten to death for it. Wonder if they ran cos they recognised Boris and assumed he'd have his armed protection posse close by too?

Totally agree. Although Boris was in the recently resurrected Spitting Image as an easily distracted Old English Sheep Dog his character was the only funny one in it. Well, apart from Alastair Darling being portrayed as Private "we're doomed!" Fraser from Dad's Army...
