I ground mine down to fit, they need to be pretty narrow circlip pliers

Double check the numbers on your master cylinder (sorry I'm having a horrible flash back here). Tell us what it says on the barrel, on my curvy someone had crashed the bike and wrecked the mastecylinder and unbeknown to me fitted a smaller capacity mastercylinder.

hmmm On the barrel bit of the mastercilinder it should say something like 5/8 or 1/4 etc and on the other side it'll say the brand like 'nissin'.

Right, now we need someone clever to appear and tell us what it should be :(
I thought it was 5/8 but could be wrong I'll do a quick search

right so

On the other side from where it says NISSIN it also has the following;

5/8 2 V 3

is what i need - but that is for a pointy and i have a curvy dose that even matter ??

Mine was a curvy and the advice I got on that thread was correct.

aye
well 5/8 is bigger than 1/2 so t's make sense that if you have a 1/2 diameter cylinder and the sv is supposed to be 5/8 that they've sent out the wrong one.
Don't hold me to it though

do you know what svs have when they leave the factor ??

I'd hazard a guess at 5/8

Why were you changing the seals? I found it incredibly hard to bleed up my system (maaybe because of the smaller mastercylinder), went to change the seals and found that I had a smaller mastercylinder on the bike so put a 5/8 one on.

becuase my front brake was crap i changed all seals and pistons and bleed niples lines banjo bolts washers top of master cyclinder and the brake was still crap so the only thing i had not changed was the seals in the master cyclinder so i thought i do it and found the problem i now have.

as you said earlyer about ur cyclinder being changed becuase of a crash well mine is the same.

there is no way a 5/8 is going to fit in my cyclinder no way in hell

so now im trying to find a 5/8 cyclinder i might jsut buy a brand new one from the dealers that way it cant be wrong :)

Sounds very familiar ;)
I just got a secondhand one of an ace forummer who saved me a lot of arsing around, if you have a new seal kit and get them to confirm it's the right one before sending it no harm buying 2nd hand.
