could you live without the internet?
I moved house about 6 months ago and had no internet for about a week also had no tv i was quite happy with no tv but the lack of internet was driving me round the twist, just wondering if im in the minority or majoriity?
We moved house in Feb this year and it was only in september that we had internet at home again. However we both have phones that we could get the internet on and we both had internet access at work, so even tho we did live without we didn't!

I work from home and rely on the internet for connection to the corporate network. Without internet access I would have to move or worse start commuting to an office! So no, I cannot live without it.

Philosophically yes I wish I could, and no TV or phone or anything.
And live in a bucolic idyll.
Which these days (in the reality of developed countries) requires us to be special people or have **** loads of money.

I am on a couple of forums, Facebook, B3ta and Sickipedia. :shock:
I met the love of my life over the internet and actually knew her for about three years before we met or even considered falling in love. I met my last Boyfriend on line and have even used those tacky singles sites for a while before leaving them in disgust when I realised that most of them are filled with charmless, self deluding, ugly idiots who only talk to girls in the hope of a seagull (http://www.seabird.org/birds-shag.asp)!
I love the internet, but most of all I love the Org, which makes the internet a nice place to be.
Could I live with out the net? Yes. :(

TV i could live without, but not the internet
though the rate its going, wont be long before they merge together
how many of us watch something on TV, then search the internet for other episodes rather than wait till next weeks episode on the telly :)

I used Matchdotcom and was barraged with filthy e-mails from low life scum who seemed to think that they could "cure me" from my interest in girls. I did state on my profile that I was bisexual though. Thankfully, Gaydar Girls (http://gaydargirls.com/) exists and it is a fabulous site for nice young ladies (and a few terrifying ones!). :D

ive lived without mobiles the net and tv before, and i some ways it was better , remember before the mobile when you could sit in the pub and give the barman the nod to say he hadnt seen you when the wife/girlfriend phoned looking you :)

Don't think I could, between this, google maps, Aberdeen Bikers, bebo, email, online banking... redtube, spankwire ....they all have their own uses... :)

love the net for cathing up with folk on Facebook. Watching TV on I-Player and the likes when I want to. Buying stuff I don't need from Amazon. Online PC gaming namely BF2 and COD4 & 5. But more importantly looking at all the interesting things us mad bikers have to say on the ORG

Yea, I could live without the internet. At least, I can do without the social side of it, it wouldnt kill me.
But the internet is a valuble resource of scientific literature, so for my work, I cannot do without it.
Unless the uni library decide to stock every single paper printed in every single journal ever.

NO! I work from home.
Still I'm having to work at my mothers house at the moment 'cos BT decided last week that we were moving to Yorkshire, disconnected our phone line and connected a new on in my name in a house in Selby!
Oh BT, your such a great company I could give you a big :kiss: :rolleyes: :smt067
So took 3 days to get the phone re provisioned and the broadband won't be back on until next Tuesday!

No. Addicted to information and being nosey. Always like to know whats going on in the world at the touch of a button and like to glean knowledge from others on messageboards.
I really cant imagine life without the internet. I'd have too many unanswered questions.
The internet is brilliant for long distance relationships. Couldn't be without skype now.
Its so easy to find out information too, and I like knowing stuff.

Hi there,
Without the internet is like going back to the dark ages :reaper:. Imagine if you take off all the connections this world is doomed especially for business with a business phone system because it rely on the internet to be effective.
