I saw one of these in Fowlers of Bristol and tis absolutely gorgeous. Its got little details Bimota would be proud of! Its Yamaha quality on Steroids.

I'd ve very happy to have one in my stable but funds don't allow at the moment. Good luck with the sale!

Great price too!

wow i have 8 watchers now lol

and yup the quality is much higer than the sv but the mt's not exactly a log distance bike and as im riding france next year it needs to make way for my sv, i must note this bike WILL out handle any sports bike its stupidly fast in tight twisty roads, i lost a r6 doing some b roads :P.

also this is the the year(2006) that you can powercomander any year after that you carnt(you can just dosent work) as the lanber sensor plays havoc with it even a long band sensor still has problems.

and the bike was white ....

When people say things like this I always think it's due to the rider's skills and not so much the bike!

^ thanks :)

and WOW you should ride one and then im sure you would know what i mean, the stearing it super sharp, its so nimble you can weav the dashed lines at 60mph+ i have no such look with the sv.

I remember looking at one and sitting on one when I had the harley and wanted a change, I left it for a while and then after 2 years got the SV.

At the time I really didn't like plastic on bikes and that was my main problem with the bike lol, but now I can see why a light bike is quite nice and so plastic it is, plus I wasn't aware that so many bikes had so much plastic on them. Also not keen on the exhaust. The bike I sat on also had lots of extras and had the wider handlebars. It felt very comfortable I remember it well how comfortable it felt and it's a while ago now.

I'd rather not weave at 60mph between the white lines but each to their own lol.

lmao i was using the white lines as a example :D and thers hardly and plastic on it :/ thers no panels un like the sv i mean the tanks plastic but thats about it lol apart from the usual bits

How do you find it compared to the sv? Just curious ;)

hmm hard one it, it handles absolutley briliant, loads of low end torque not that much power but enough most of the time, quality is sublime compaird to the sv(build quality) suspension it about 10x better as standard no fork dive nothing brakes are better sharper, more feal to small thogh for long distance, but brill for trafic filtering as the extra hight means that all car mirrors are missed by bars un like the SV erm riding position is dead upright no weight on your wrists at all unlike even the naked sv, down side is it only has 5 gears :/.

the biggest plus side is well with my one is its a absolute one off in the uk, you can only get the tail tidy in Italy and cost stupid amounts, never seen one like it realy, and you get about 10 people asking you what it is even when you just go to the shops.

all in all its a better bike than the sv could do with more power, but thats what the mt-01's for joking lol. not the right bike for people with a fair bit of weight and height like my self.

ohh and its verry grippy in the rain

My mate has one of these and I have ridden it a few times, for country roads it is great fun, however all the power is low down and by about 6000 rpm there is nothing left. It also tops out at about 85. Wouldn't fancy taking it on the motorway either.

As a first bike it's perfect as it wont do anything you don't want it to and the handling is very easy to get on with. I can't keep up with him in the twisties but then I catch him up and leave him well behind on the straights.

He bought his bike from his instructor who had put 15000 miles on it in 2 years. Still runs like new and hasn't got any rust on it which is good seeing as he has never cleaned it and leaves it outside in all weathers.

He has got a bit bored of it now and wants something a bit more exciting.

Personally I prefer the SV as it's a lot more powerful but if you are on 33bhp restriction I can't imagine a better bike.

barwel1992
08-11-09, 08:06 PM
lol 85mph ???? i can get 105mph out of mine but mines not restricted :/ its also ok on the Mway, and you get used to the gearing and it makes its power at 6000rpm redlines at 7500rpm 50nm or torque at 4.500 rpm thogh, is great for getting off the lights.

i do agree thogh not the fastest but if you can ride realy well then it can keep with the big boys, plus if you want afast bike dont get a single ..

also a brill bike for girls :) but could be a bit tall

My mate does weigh about 17 stone so that's probably why his goes a bit slower.

Wasn't saying anything negative or try and put people off. They are good bikes, good luck with the sale.

i know but is his restricted ? as im 16.5 stone and 6ft2 can still get 99mph with the gf on the back lol so must be his bike :/

any way any one want it lol my dad would take a dorsoduro in return lol

have a look at some of the reviews, most people also say the same about the xt660x i was speaking to one of the blokes at yamaha that was on a r1 k9 that got undertake by a xt660x on a track obv blew strait past him again but they are seriously fast but dont have any straight line stability

I just love listening to the rash claims made by those who've just passed their test and have no real experience of riding fast bikes.

Let me put it this way - an MT-03 will be blown into the weeds by any R1 built between 1998 and 2009, by simple virtue of the fact that the R1 will never have to change out of second gear (you could stick it in 2nd and then take the gear lever off before starting the race, it wouldn't make any difference) and will still be going faster at the top end than any MT-03 could ever hope to go.

well i was told that buy a verry experianced rider in a yamaha dealer....... and i take his word for it, also take my dads word for it and he's had a few fast bikes 2002 r6,fazer 1000 04,zx6r j2 and he still swares his xt660x was faster round a tight 90o+ bend

ohh and by the way its sold

glad its sold - great bikes and i agree I can corner a lot faster on my supermoto than sports bikes - proven on track numerous times and I'm not an inexperianced rider etc etc blah blah blah With the single its a punchy engine so all tourque is low down so great on twisties - any idiot can go fast in a straight line
