Is it possible? a friend of mine says her msn has been hacked by someone she doesn't know, she can still log onto her msn so noone has changed the password. so im guessing someone guessed her password or saw her type it or something?

she says she hasn't accepted any suspicious files from anyone, so anyone got any ideas besides what i've already said?

she did get added by some random guy who says he could hack  but she blocked him.

Just tell her to change her password and her questions asap.

There was a password leak at ms,yahoo and google not long back plus numptys that don't know how to use their computer don't help. She probably knows cause her contacts are pee'd off at her for sending them daft emails with links to rip off shops

As said above, change password and sec. questions quicksmart

we used to do this to each other the time at college and send those "I just want to tell you I've always loved you!" emails out to everyone. It's pretty easy, all you do is go on the "forgoten password section and keep guessing at the persons secret question. When you get it, just reset the person's password and use the new password to log in and talk/email everyone through your friends name, This is easy if you know your friends quite well and can guess their secret answer.

And always creates many many laughs.

Its not a hard thing to do really. There is certain programs you can get off some not so nice people that will do it for you same for facebook accounts etc.

dont even use the correct security answers, use another password(s)

Also prepare for the worst, ie losing access, microsoft will send you a detailled questionaire to regain control, get these filled in now and stored somewhere safe.

Have you changed the questions too? has she got firewall on? turn all the crap that starts up at startup off with msconfig, virus scan, spyware scan, configure the router securelu. Best bet is to do a clean installation, so much quicker and you can be sure its a clean PC again.
