Hmmm, I normally just use my sky+ on my telly in my room. The telly is an HD flat screen with built in freeview. We have had the switch over up here so can no longer get terrestrial. I have plugged the ariel in and tried to tune it but it won't work....is there something else I should be doing?

And no, I don't have the manual.

HELP!

What are you on about?

I am not using the sky box. I am trying to use freeview. The arial is plgged in at the socket and into the correct port on the TV. Sky box has nowt to do with it!

There are two that are using the arial as opposed to Sky. One is an old telly with a freeview box and it's fine and the other, a cheaper telly than mine, has built in freeview and it wrks fine.

So you have the airel plugged in directly to the tv and it doesnt go through the sky box? all of the sky boxes in my house the tv airel goes into it and then another wire comes out the sky box and goes into the airel port of the tvs

No, arial is not going through sky box. Sky box is not even connected to the telly ATM

HELP!

Have you check the cable run to make sure the cable connected to the roof aerial is connected properly, if so is pointing the right way?

If you in a low signal area, lost of hills, buildings around where you live? Where is the ariel? Then you might need a singnal booster to increase the singal strengh they are cheap enough, and normally run of mains power. (my folks have to do that, to get a tv picture.)

Worth looking online to see the signal strengh and coverage in your area, also ask ppl where you are what they do to get Tv signal.

I don't know why I'm trying to help you but, take your tv and plug it in to one of the other aerial sockets that you know is working

Like I said, 2 other TV's are working fine, got decent signal strength here as we have had switch over.

As it is a digital signal a lot depends on the strength of the signal and providing you are using a proper digital ariel you may[could be wrong] need to add a booster signal for the extra sets
I take it from your description the old telly with the digi box is analogue, the second one is digital working direct on freeview

yeh, thats right DT. We have fairly good signal, think its something like 80%. I just don't undertand how the other two are working and this one is picking up anything at all?

kwak zzr

i run 3 tellies off a digi aerial in the loft and the signal is very weak, if i connect it to just one the signal is full.

Milky Bar Kid

hmmm, strange. You would think it would at least pick up a weak signal though?

I am thinking there may be a problem with the TV itself. I will try plugging it in in a different room at some point and if that doesnt work, back to the shop I go!!

If the signal falls below a certain strength, then the telly might not accept the channels.

We've got freeview through 2 different tellys on seperate arials and one has more channels than the other.
