Just had my first off, can safely say the single most weird experience in my life, was coming off a kempshott roundabout (some of you who live locally will know the one) and the front end decided to go, bike did a 360 sliding along the road across oncoming lane, i followed it mainly on my arm and leg.
sv has suffered left fairing scrapage, broken indicator, broken gear lever, mashed up bar end, scraped mirror, belly pan also suffered scrapage, and my screen got snapped.
i was wearing leather jacket and draggin jeans (what a good job they did) there torn up pretty bad but no damage to legs, my arm has some huge graze down it from the friction which is pretty painful...
So yeah thats it just thought i would share my story, pics to come later

Sorry to hear that mate :(
I did the exact same thing. Luckily the car coming on the roundabout stopped in time. I'm surprised your arm got grazed through your leathers from a relatively low speed off.
Hope everything gets sorted soon
Maybe he meant a friction/carpet burn from loose leathers/under layers..

Ouch !
That will leave one mega scab. When I came off the tzr my leather jacket lifted up at the back (wasn't zipped to trousers - lesson learned) and the bottom of my back looked just like your arm. Took ages for the scab to heal, and every time I moved it cracked and stung like hell. Not nice :(

Make sure, if you havent already, you get that looked at cos them type of injuries carry high risk of infection.

That arm looks like it'll smart, was that just from rubbing against the inside of your leathers?
Round about wet/slippy?

Ouchy wouchy. Thats gotta sting, get to A&E and see what they suggest to do about it cos you dont want that sticking to your clothes/bedding cos thats even more ouch to come.
Glad you are ok otherwise and the bike is an easy enough fix.
And hey, chicks love scars on guys and battle scars on bikes ;)

Sorry to hear bout your off but am loving the wound... nice little bit of infection there and plenty of inflammation. What they using on it? Should heal very well and quickly with the right treatment.
Best of luck with the bike repairs.

Ouch .....
Makes you think how nuts the people I see racing around the one-way system in Kingston must be .......
In the summer ........ they're nye-on knee down with just a t-short and shorts on !!
ouch! GWS genetic bubble!...Try your best to stick to your antibiotics - its easy to forget to take 'em sometimes, and go through the whole day to realise you haven't! Beat that infection down good!
So how come the front end just went? Scaresomes...was it cos of the huge amounts of rain or something?
GeneticBubble
14-11-09, 10:56 PM
no idea why the front end went lol, weather wasn't bad was foggy in the morning so maybe a little damp at best, but we decided that the reason i got injured is because unlike most people who let go of the bike i decided to hold on for a second or two as it slid down the road, so had the weight of the bike on my arm pushing it against the road.
worst thing about it though it the casts there using on there 4th type now seem to keep getting stuck to the wound, which is unpleasent to say the least, opened it up today at hospital and the amount of puss and general, brown/green/red that leaked out was unreal.

Wow!!! That graze is worse than the one I got when I slid down the road on snake pass and set fire to the bike.

Heal fast, get your bike fixed and go and play. Nice wound though, should leave you a nice scar.
Interestingly, there is a certain Operation that leaves a big scar there! Just ask John Wayne Bobbitt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_and_Lorena_Bobbitt)

Yowch! That looks nasty. Heal up soon!
Maybe some diesel on the road? That'd take a front end out real quick...

Man that thing must be giving off some heat , I had a similar wound years ago and I think they prescribed Fucidin cream for it .
Sorry to hear about your off...
Keep going back to get that wound sorted - you're entitled to ask for a wound specialist at the hospital... they will sort you out.

lol fluclox is an anti biotic which will help clear up that infection. Would`ve thought they`d have put something anti microbial on the wound too tho.
Hope it`s healing well :D
2000mg ??? Was that a one off dose mate?? and then just taking one tablet 3 times a day??
If you are taking 4???? tablets 3 times a day that is a massive dose. Get ready for a nice dose of diarrhea, oral thrust or worse, if they are making you take that much!!! lol

Normal dose for bacterial infection is 1 x 500mg tablet 4 times a day so I`d say he`s on the right dose.
