NHS emergency dentists are open at your local A&E mate.

Really? I didn't think they could do anything at this time of night at the weekend. I was always under the impression that if you had tooth troubles you had to wait til Monday to get it sorted.

This is seriously bad and affecting my appetite because I can't eat a thing without being in really really bad pain. I can't even have a cuppa without my tooth and jaw burning up.

Really? Since when? I've been in and out of A&E regularly over the past 10 years and not seen hide nor hair of an out of hours dentist.

I may be wrong though. Different areas have different agreements etc...

try a bit of clove on your tooth or in the gum near the tooth.. or even better try bite into it gently with the sore tooth (tastes like carp but it does the job).. its a natural anelgesic (spelling???)

"It is a natural analgaesic (http://forums.sv650.org/wiki/Analgaesic) and antiseptic (http://forums.sv650.org/wiki/Antiseptic) used primarily in dentistry (http://forums.sv650.org/wiki/Dentistry) for its main ingredient eugenol (http://forums.sv650.org/wiki/Eugenol). It can also be purchased in pharmacies (http://forums.sv650.org/wiki/Pharmacies) over the counter, as a home remedy (http://forums.sv650.org/wiki/Home_remedy) for dental pain relief, mainly toothache (http://forums.sv650.org/wiki/Toothache);"

thats if the dentist not open..

Hey Lozzo,

get on the phone to NHS Direct. Often intense tooth ache can be due to an infection and you may need an antibiotic and a pain killer. Any Medical Doctor can proscribe that for you. So have a chat with them. :smt056

Be careful with prescription pain killers, the side effects can include constipation, biting on the door handle afterwards can make your tooth hurt more! :smt077

yup. clove oil and nurofen m8.. will only give you about 4 hours relief before you have to take them again. also try taking some brufen as well (will help with inflammation if there is any).

Sounds like an abcess to me, too. I'm just getting over one, flared up last Saturday and by Sunday night I was in agony. I was prescribed a 7 day course of 500mg amoxycillin and by Tuesday the pain was gone.

Hope you get it sorted Lozzo, I can fully appreciate the pain you are in at the moment.

Mine is now sorted, dentist pulled the tooth for the grand sum of £16-50 this morning at the emergency dental clinic. My mouth feels like it's the size of a cow's ar5e end, but I don't care
