Motul is highly recommended online.
But, Its hard to say, a quick google and i cant find any reviews/test comparing oils. People useually go for the higher price oils and hope the higher price is a better oil.
As for motul, apparently HGs own oil is also rebranded motul, and its ony £13.99 for semi 4L. No idea how true this is.
Many say they wont put cheap oil in there bikes but will be happy to get a 1p ryanair flight to europe lol.

Think I remember that Hein Gerike is Motul rebranded.
Even Halfrauds own brand must be some big oil companies product. So why buy Castrol at that over inflated price. Crazy

Yeah I think Hein Gericke's own stuff is rebranded Motul. That's what I use, and at £13.99 (I paid £10.99 when it was on offer) for 4 litres it sure is cheap compared! Not heard of anyone having problems using it either.

It may also be worth looking at Morris Lubricants. They deliver to your door or workplace and delivery was free for orders over £50 excluding VAT. They also produce antifreeze, copper grease, chain lube, etc.

They Probably do not go through all the tests that Castrol do on bikes on the road and bikes in their labs, but probably a lot of the others don't as well. If I recall correctly Morris Lubricants used to support race teams at one time.
Motul 5100 seems to be the most popular at SVDU (aussie) and I've used it predominantly for the last 6-7 years and like it a lot. Quite expensive here is the most significant drawback.
Used Motul 5100 for 6 years now without issue

Where can you get Shell oils from? I used to use the full-synth Rotella-T diesel oil in my Husaberg (in Canada) - it was dirt cheap and the motor was in great shape after tons of short commuting and track use.
Edit - I've googled but it doesn't seem Rotella is available here?

I believe Halfrauds are either Comma or tetrosyl.
Aparently Castrol don't fill for anyone else.
Unless they are buying and filling their own (knowing them doubt it)

What is the best available oil?
New Oil that meets the manufacturers recommendation for your vehicle.
Sometimes I think I take a to simplistic approach to this, but I've run my last few vehicles on halford own brand and changed it frequently when it wa due a changed.
I've never had a problem yet...
