this has been taken of a k8 model

ohlins springs and a mod done on the inner cartridges

So have ohlins cartridges been fitted (or any) or have they just changed the size/shape of the holes on the original damper rods.

(a cartridge is a whole world apart from a damper rod)
A damper rod, that's it, damping comes simply from the oil flowing through the holes (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg216/barry_buchanan/2009%20Modifications/Damper%20Rods/PreppedDamperRod.jpg)

A cartridge is completely different, with spring-steel valves to control oil flow at different fork velocities.
