View Full Version : How would you change the NEC show?

After reading the usual threads saying about how the NEC show is bad and a waste of money etc, I was wondering, what would you do to make it better? Can it be made better or are our expectations of what a show should be unrealistic from a manufacturers "what is economically viable" point of view?

I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything, just wondered what points might make it better or more appealing to more bikers/potential bikers.

Cut the ticket price. Too expensive. As is the rip off food & drink there.

Seconded, plus lower the car parking price, also change the stunt show every year.

Ticket price and free parking.
Less mingers on the bike stands, and if they can't get any better, we can throw wet sponges at them, so that gets rid of them permanently....more chance of getting a go on a bike if they ain't draped over em ;-)
Stalls more than happy to have a haggle, and not be so tight with the discounts.
Cheaper beer too.

I'd ban Ducati based on their sh!tty effort this year. ;)

Seriously though, that Buell knee down bike was always popular, a couple more fun things like that would be good. A bike doing a wheelie or stoppie perhaps? How's about a tankslapper simulator to scare the poop out of you?

More bikes and less stalls would be good IMO. I mean, come on, there was a stall there this year dedicated entirely to undies!

As much as they're not to my taste, the name of the show implies that there will be scooters there. Didn't see many. A few years back Peugeot had their full range and there were plenty of others.

Yeppers, drop the entry price, parking fees, bring back the helmet park and the strippers, errr i mean dancing girls, cap the food and beer prices, try to dredge up a goods supplier wo actually does a 'deal' or 'sale' nowadays rather than trying to sell old stocvk at a premium.....

Yep, when i were a lad it was ......LOL

More demos and ride outs. The off roading was good fun, but this year there was no road riding and apart from the Mini Moto not much else to get involved in.

Oh and get rid of all those women draping themselves over bikes. I really can't stand it.

+1. I thought it was just me.

What makes other shows so popular - eg the Good Food show? - more activity based stuff. Static displays are dull.
