Here in the West midlands last night it rained followed by freezing temperatures early this morning which has turned everywhere into an 'Ice Ring' or at least in my road?

It makes sense now why they issued that warning last night on the radio about avoiding traveling if dont have to.:makelurve:

Same here ......... the roads are an ice-rink (off the main roads) .....

Stepped outside earlier, and there is no way i could get on the bike, and judging from the mess I've seen a few get in to, I'm hoping my car doesn't get a whack either !!!

No snow but icy as feck here

Just got back with the dog and watched a car turn off the main road and simply slide into the kerb as soon as it got off the cleared tracks!!

Funny walking the dog this morning, I slipped a bit where there was ice under the snow. Dog comes running up in catch up mode, hits the snow/ice and ends up on his side, sliding down the road, but a quick flick and he is off on four again thinking what the f*** happened there.

yeah it's pretty much the worst black ice I can remember - all the sideroads/pavements round by us are just sheet ice.

And when it takes 5 gos to get the car out of the drive and I have to walk down it holding onto the fence, I have to admit (temporary) defeat on the biking front... :(

The main roads round here are ok ish, but my street where I live is a dead end, its just sheet ice, I have a bricked drive way and thats just iced over totally. Taking the train to get around at moment until its a lot better.

Seems to have been the cause of most of the chaos round here, snow falling onto ice

My parents' journey from visiting me was not just Cardiff - M4 - M25 - St Albans but instead M4 - A449 - M50 - M5 - M42 - god knows what else - Bicester - and more because of BOTH Severn Bridges closing due to ice falling off!
