why is it that Easyjet cancelled their flights to Gatwick, Luton, Standstead and Madrid and yet BA were still flying in and out of those airports.

I was flying from Edinburgh to Gatwick on Tuesday, flight was 1920. I put my suitcase thru, went thru security and got to other side at 615 only to find that my flight was cancelled. Had to go and get my bag from carousel and report to ticket office where I was informed they were going to bus us to Gatwick. Arrived at Gatwick at 7am next morning with a very grumpy 1st birthday girl.

They cancelled a flight to Madrid and announced over tannoy, Madrid flight is cancelled not another until 29th if you were book on this cancelled flight please vacate the building. omg lots of crying spanish people.

A few people tried to get onto BA flights to Gatwick but they were charging just under £300 for a one way flight. Where is their xmas spirit.

anyway have a lovely xmas everyone and I hope those travelling with easyjet got home ok.

ouch! sorry to hear the bad news and I can't believe they would put a one year old through that! A friend *was* flying to Madrid but now she is going in January...this is after she confirmed everything, checked flights...got to the airport and basically got told the same thing - "flight cancelled, *****er off".

One look at their balance sheet would make you understand why they have no xmas spirit.

Why Easy Jet aren't flying is a mystery:confused:

My friend just went to South Africa for Christmas. Missed her connection in Paris, finally got to SA 2 days late and they've lost her bag containing all her summer clothes and the Christmas presents for her family. I think that was Air France.

AF was great for me. Checked in less than 30 mins before departure. Got on the plane on time but 7 others didn't so took 15 mins to off load their luggage. But still arrived on time (1 min early ;))

Supply and demand - they have shareholders to think about and not all of them are christians.

This is why I tend to sail/drive when crossing the Irish Sea, takes a really bad day to stop a 22000 ton ferry!:D

I had a friend who was sat in Belfast City Airport for 3 hours with no information on Monday, thankfully her flight was one of the last ones that flew that night.:D

The really annoying thing about it though was Gatwicks website was saying the flight was on time and even the easy jet website that is "updated every 5 minutes, 24 hours a day" said it was due on time. Flight should have landed at 20:45 and at 21:30 their website were still saying the same!
