Title should say strange

I have seen i bike that i am gonna pick up in a van. Is it possible to insure a bike in a garage agaist theft out of the garage only? The bikes worth 3k.

I dont want any cover to ride it on the road. Its just gonna sit in the garage for 6 months until it gets warmer in 3-4 months and i will begin work on it.

Is it possible to cover it on the house insurance or some other sort of insurance against theft only.

Its a very high insurance group and costs a fortune to get cover TPF+T. I dont wana be penalized and have to pay for the risk of crashing into someone if it just gonna be sat in the garage for 6 months and there is 0% risk of crashing into someone.

thanks ian

Your house insurance does nomally allow for singularly declared high value items, while normally for cameras, jewellery, push bikes etc I can't see any reason why you couldn't declare it as such making it clear that it is not otherwise insured and would just be for theft.

Like the others say, in your situation I think I'd be speaking to your house insurance folks first. There are usually some sort of exclusions when vehicles are already covered by their own insurance, but in your case it wouldn't apply so worth asking. They might well put some conditions on it regarding security.
