A nice Omellette with some finely chopped onion in it and some canned tomatoes on toast , this is one of the best things to get the kidneys processing a lot quicker . What really re-hydrates me very quickly and settles me down is Sprite or 7-Up as well .
Sprite or 7-up - as much fluid as possible. Paracetomol for the banging head.

Water. Plenty before bed and first thing after getting up. Hangovers are about 9/10 dehydration.

In addition to my post above,
Prepearing your body before a hangover apparently helps reduce the impact of it. i.e. by making sure your body is adequately hydrated in order to cope with the alcohol intake, making sure you have food in your stomach in order to slow the absorption of alcohol etc.
I cant provide a link because I cant remember where I read it :smt069

Arrggh now the alcohol has gone I have a pain ... think I busted my coxyx ???? ouch !!
Now how did I do that??????? It hurts to sit, walk, stand. Mmmmm no man was involved either !
Deficiencies in vitamin B12 are linked to hangovers, and drinking inhibits the ability to absorb vitamins.
If you take something like Berocca or an 'own brand' equivalent this helps relieve a hangover. It works better still if taken before you go to sleep that night, and even better still if you take it the morning or night before the bender.
Life long pharmacist friend introduced this to me several years ago, and it works a treat.
Irn bru, lucozade, water.
Bacon and lorne rolls, fatty food.
I actually recommend hair of the dog ;)
