Can someone explain why we dont use fork gaiters? Alright I know they went out of fashion but colour matched ones dont look bad and stanchions are so hard/expensive to repair.

Because
they went out of fashion

Like topboxes and huge capacious mudguard/fenders, they're really useful and horribly naff. That's fashion.

Depends on your personal taste, I'd rather go for black gaiters than coloured :smt016

For this time of year gaiters do have their uses, and don't look too bad IMHO

nothing wrong with them at all. Better than rusty or chipped forks. They should make zip on ones for winter.

You can I believe get velcro neoprene ones.

The only problem that I have ever had with popular neoprene gaters is dirt getting into them and messing up the fork legs. I prefer the traditional type.
Upper legs can be lubricated without every bit of junk sticking to them. I guess that is out of fashion too.

I love the (function of) that chain guard. My Honda 50 had a full one of those, and IIRC, Bultaco Metrala's had one like the pic. Chain lasts forever. Why are these useful things so uncool? Wot my kids would say about me as well.:(

I have neoprene ones on my KTM but you do have to take them off after every ride otherwise the fork leg stays damp and dirty.

They only work on deeply unfashionable RWU forks.

I have some on my dullville. it looks sh*t anyway so I don't care. keeps the fork legs free from winter carp, and gives it a kinda mad max look - to go with the rest of the paint scheeme :p

Visually, I reckon there'd no penalty fitting them on a faired bike.
