View Full Version : gogol bordello
I have recently discovered them
Anyone else a fan of their music?
Yep, awesome band.
Try and see them live if you can. Saw them a couple of years ago in Birmingham, the guy playing the violin was playing so hard he got through 4 bows during the set. Two of them in the final track!
Youve seen them live? awesome. I'd love to put thought they only really did gigs in the states?
I listened to some live stuff and it sounds sooo good. Just a great party
Nope, they come over here from time to time. I'll try to remember to give you a headsup if I see that they're touring this way again. At the moment they only have US & Australia dates.
And yes, the best description of their gigs is that it's just one giant awesome party :D
Cheers Tim, would be wicked if you let me know if you see it anywhere.
I know a few others that would be up for it to

Yeah, was into them a couple of years ago when "Start wearing purple" came out, but moved on to other things now. Good band tho.

I seem to recall Jo Whiley pushing this band a few years ago on her daytime Radio 1 show. Can't remember what they sounded like but do remember liking them at the time.

Just got a link to this in my inbox, and remembered this thread.

Gogol Bordello are great, though I wasn't that sure I liked them when they teamed up with Madonna (should have retired after the Ray of Light album) for a number of her gigs...
They have also appeared on some movie soundtracks, including "everything is illuminated" - great movie BTW :)
