Just got this (http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/604364/LG-BD350) it wasn't my first choice but it is quite nice just need to wait till morning now so i can try it with the surround sound. Shame i only have 1 dvd and and no money to buy any more. Cant wait till pay day :D
they do look better you just have to choose the right film as some of the transfers are crap.

mmmhmm....im going to take a guess that the newer ones are shot in HD so should be better any ways?

The transfer of films to blu ray should be great quality for most films. Old films were shot on very good quality reels, far better than anythink but cinemas could show un-till now.

wow, thats a lot of money for a player. You could've stuck another £100 on that and got yourself a brand new ps3, games and blu ray all in one.

Meh I don't do PS3's hate them infact. I had one a while ago, one of the big lumpy ones that i sold to my brother. Just wasn't getting used in terms of games and I didnt have a HD tv at the time so no blu ray, and tbh im prefering the smaller player

i got a SONY BDP 360 the other day for £100 :D dont have any BR's yet thogh but have gladiator and district 9 coming
PS all films (with some budget) after 1980 were film'd higer than 1080p
you must post a pic of you set up (tv and all that)
Im still not convinced by Bluray. I have a good pannel, a decent upscaling DVD player and a PS3. I have yet to find a film that i have watched on Bluray that has blown me away. However, i have been reliably informed that the Blue Planet BBC stuff is astounding.
I think the difference between an Upscaled image and a bluray image is marginal. From a Standard image and Bluray must be great.

Both blue planet and planet earth are awesome on bluray I have them, planet earth is astounding.
Barwell I someone would remember the format. All cinemas gave been 2k for years. My local one has new state of the art 4k Sony projectors that's mind blowing.
