Eileen just fired up for the first time since the second engine went pop.

As much as I've hated the bike ever since it happened, it sounded glorious.

Eileen

There's your problem, you gave it a human's name.

It's a friggin' machine, made of metal plastic and rubber... it is not a human being. If it dies you kick it and fix it or buy a new one, not get sentimental about it.

Look carefully at the name and think about it. There's nothing sentimental about it - it's a joke ;)

It's a dole-bike :D

I'm not following.

Either way it's getting sold in the near future. After being on the RR for the last few weeks I'm looking at getting an F4i.

Good news Neeja.

...And it is possible to get sentimental over a bike. You can decide to work harder to kep it going rather than selling it...:D

It spends most of its time not working, hence it's a dole-bike

D'oh, getcha now ;)

To be fair to the poor critter it's only been off the road for 2 months in the last 2 years, so it's not too bad.

Oh, and it's all now completely back together and running. I was a little concerned about how it was pulling at first...before I realised I'd connected the gear lever the wrong way around and was actually riding it in second instead of first ;)

Full test ride in a minute...

there's nowt like the feeling of satisfaction when you have the first ride of a bike you've rebuilt and its all good.

Successfully rode 25 miles without it blowing up.

Engine sounds a little bit ticky when running, but it's definitely not the same as the two engines that lunched themselves - I'd say it sounds like valve noise, but I've given up predicting as that's a surefire way to get the engine to go bang. Will check the clearances in the next few days, either way.

However, I now want this:

Mate Id love too, but everytime I get a bit of cash together something goes wrong, even more annoying cos me landscaping buisness did great towards the back end of last year, but every penny seems to evaporate away on some bill ot something
