Just looking into Quidco. What are peoples experiences with them. Good, bad or indifferent what's the story.

I use it & it's great - money for nothing. So far I've received £40 & have another £10 being tracked.

The instore stuff is easy as you just register a card with quidco then forget about it. If you're shopping online you just have to remember to go through the quidco website. I always use it when buying something on eBay no matter how small the purchase price is.

I've used it for nearly 5 years and have got a fair amount back although I rarely used it for the first 2-3 years, even though it's only a couple of percent per transaction at best it does add up.

Plus they have some decent "special rates" at times. Got £70 cash back for a car insurance policy with Aviva (who were already the cheapest for what I wanted/needed) last year.

And if you have an iOS/Android device, they have an app where you can check-in to certain stores and earn money just for doing so. For example at the Carphone Warehouse you'd get paid £0.25 for checking in, limited to once per two weeks. Not worth driving round the shops just to get these of course! But if you're there it is free money and does add up.

So do you also get the Nectar points on ebay at the same time.

I don't know if you can get nectar points at the same time but I doubt it. I gave up with nectar as I seemed to be collecting forever & never got a lot in return. The benefits of quidco seem loads better than nectar to me.

I've had hundreds off them in the past few years, you can also sign up the last few digits of your card details and reclaim cashback when buying in store.
Topcashback are rumored to have better rates but I couldn't find what I wanted on there and their site was annoying, same with greasy palm so I stuck with quidco.

Just signed up to Quidco. They want my card number to register my in shop purchases from Halford etc, Is it safe? Do others have their card details registered?

Why do I have to clear my cookies before making a purchase? and how do you do that?
using mozilla firefox at the moment.

How do you prove you have been into carphone warehouse to claim 25p?

So how does it work? Register your cards and earn casback when buying from selected stores?

I've believe it's only a portion of your card number and no other details which can threaten your security.
Clearing your cookies (nom nom nom) isn't necessary, I used to use firefox and then I now use chrome and I never bothered and I don't believe I've not had a purchase tracked for that reason. I generall open a new browser session (i.e close all other windows and double click ffox) and go to quidco & sign in then search for the vendor and deal in quidco and go to it from there.

If you find anything doesn't get tracked (EDF energy suspiciously weren't forthcoming with an £80 bonus) you just file for it and give details of the transaction in the customer care portal.

The shops which work with quidco just have a system which flags when your card has been used in store and submits the cashback claim to them.

It's basically a twist on the commission model, quidco get commission every time you buy from them and they're happy to give you a portion of this to ensure millions of transactions go through them. (although there is a £5 fee, so once you've earned £10 in a year, you see £5 of that)

Yeah in-store is the easiest, sign your card up and everytime you make a purchase in a quidco parter's store you get a nice surprise.

Online (and/or on big purchases like contracts, energy bills and insurance) is where you'll find most benefit. I generally find the best deal online then scan quidco to see what the cashback rate is + if there are any deals and shop via them if so or sometimes see if buying the second cheapest item works out cheaper with quidco's incentives.

literally is money for nothing, just don't expect a lot or fast.

Yep or buying something through Quidco using one of their links.

I was looking at booking a hotel via Expedia and getting 12% cashback I think.

Loads of deals on there

I've made £500 in 3 years with £135 on house insurance for my house and made £70 on my mums house insurance in one shot. I got £2k in hotels to book up and as pointed out 12% quidco will be £240. Nice
