Straight swap then? I thought it was just the newer gsxr forks that were the same bearings etc. Looks good with it all silver
all the same for a pointy Daz. problem begins with Curvy's (top bearing and all that)
srad FE looks good on the silver BTW.

I rang before fitting but was still worried they'd change the story when I rang up to confirm.

What did they say?
The first time I tried to explain all my mods to the insurance guy it was pretty obvious he didn't have a clue what I was talking about and wasn't taking a note of it. So I sort of thought, what's the point? It's not like they have them written on my insurance documents anyway, so what's to stop them denying all knowledge?
Dave20046
14-06-10, 09:31 PM
You & them having the call recorded should stop them denying it.
They said "aslong as it doesn't increase performance that's fine"
I said "it doesn't increase power, is that what you mean by performance?"
They said yes and declined my offer of a list of mods but I mentioned the suspension and brakes and I'd previously mentioned other mods (when bought the policy)
DarrenSV650S
14-06-10, 09:35 PM
Ok it doesn't increase performance, but some of the bits on my bike are worth a lot more than oem parts. So are they going to take that in to account if they ever pay out? No.
They will just see it as a standard K3 with 30k+ on the clocks. Leaving me with sod all

Dave20046
14-06-10, 10:13 PM
that a side I'd imagine if you had a crash and stuff wasn't declared they'd try and wriggle out of paying up.
what've you got that's worth more than OEM?! I got paid out about £250 for an OE honda can second hand one was only £40...

Wasn't going to take any pics until I got round to either getting the rearsets powder coated black, or investing in some GB Moto rearset. However just fitted the steering damper (yes...I know it doesn't need one, but it didn't need most of the stuff that's on either!) and decided it needed a quick wash and some photo's taking....

Looking good mate, just need to ditch that can!
Hi
Just bought Mr Fish's Beowolf end can, which is on it's way to me now. Will try to relocate the can a bit higher too, as the lean angles are increasing. Been decking out the 'hero blobs' at Castle Combe today. Was there being filmed by the BBC for a short documentary to be shown in Oct, hoping to show more wheelie users that you can still ride. Also trying to get my race licence, we were testing the new stabilisers, which worked fine apart from when I tried to head off without engaging first gear, let the clutch out - stabs came up and I fell straight over!
Cheers

I prefer the big mirror because it is more in my line of sight, and means I can have proper heavy bar ends. Plus with the bar end mirrors, if you drop the bike that's them crunched straight away.
I quite like the look of the standard indicators. I think the mini's look a bit naff
