View Full Version : How comfortable are you with your body?
With all these threads that keep poping up about body areas... ive noticed that people are mainly talking about other bodies and not their own.
Me, i dont like taking my shirt off in front of any one dont know why just dont like it, unless ive just come out the shower in my house or i get up at 1 am in the morning to go to the toilet, on the other hand for example if i have to change out my leather trousers to put on a normal pair of trousers i dont care, ill happily do that in public (not public public but you know what i mean), yet i hate and will not wear shorts.
So how comfortable are you with your body?
You dont have to go into detail and im also adding a private poll.
Forgot to add a poll option of "only select body areas" could this be added by any chance?
Thanks
I don't have the body of a god, but I don't care. This should be an option too.

And that please :D or just edit the god bit out
Ta!
I voted option 1, whilst I wouldn't hang my toffee apple out in public I have no qualms with getting my moobs or legs out :)

As long as there's a couple of people that im comfortable with seeing it around then im pretty easy and I'll show off any of it. If im on my own then i hate people seeing it.
Where is the 'I look like Jabba the Hut but am comfortable getting naked' option?
Just vote option 1 for now ill get the god bit removed

A few years of getting changed into a wetsuit in all manner of seaside locations teaches you that if you're going to take it all off in public at least make it entertaining, this year it certainly was as I've put on a stone or so since my winter steamer suit fitted like a glove, getting into and out of it is quite a show...
Used to hate having to get changed in public but it doesn't bother me now, anyone who judges a person based solely on their physical appearance can sod off:)
*Waits for the "naked" AR09 photo to surface again...*
;)
When I've been training down the gym on a regular basis then I don't mind going shirtless - sunbathing etc
However, when Christmas has just ended and I've not been to the gym since the beginning of December & it's too cold to get up early to go to the gym, then I find black shirts to be the order of the day!
I tend to lose weight over Christmas - which isn't a good thing as it's all the bulk/mass that I've been attempting to acquire thru' heavy weights! The only part of me that expands is the belly!

I'm more than comfortable.
As TLW says above, years of racing and getting changed in the paddock area soon makes you forget any prudishness!
Don't give a monkey's about who sees me naked and never have. I don't have the body of a god, but I certainly ain't fat or too skinny any more

All depends on how I am feeling. Sometims I don't care and other times il shy away, even from Phil.
As a general rule, only certain few get to see what's underneath!

I can't stand my own body (neither can Mr BC :smt005)
I have to really trust people if I'm to take clothing off in front of them, it's taken me roughly 10 years to get to the point where I can wear three quarter length trousers and a summer top in public after years of bullying about my weight. (and no....I'm not a size 20!)
It's why I love the friends I have now, they make me feel good about myself without even knowing it! :smt101

I'm a nice person and don't wanna hurt people's eyes so keep covered unless drunk or stoned, then who knows what happens.

The older I get, the less I seem to care about it! I need to hit the exercise soon again, but other than that, I don't care if people see, everyone is human!

Hmm well there are parts I don't like and want to improve -.e. arms and tummy, but other than that I can make do. I'm not a fan of stripping off in front of people, with friends I have to know them well. That's 'bout it really :)
OOOooooooo
Why is the poll private?? I wanna see who likes taking their kit off :D

there is a great pic of me playing with my nips on an active thread somewhere about at mo. I dont care too much tbh.
The lovely Cazza also has a pic of me in my boxers outside the houses of parliament. No it wasn't some kind of protest, well it was actually...it was on the kill spills demo and i needed to take the thermal liner out my trousers as i was about to pass out from the heat.

:D Not too fussed - I often proclaim I'm gorgeous although I know I ain't.
My boy is 3 on Thurs & I hit the big 30 last year so I should really get my ass in gear & try to loose some of tummy.
It's not like I don't do any exercise (sprained my ankle bad Fri 13th Nov 09 playing 5 a side) but I know my problem is 'doing' massive portions & too many beers
If only they did'nt taste soooooooooo good.:smt117

Yeah yeah yeah... he just can't help getting his kit off in front of ladies.
I'm not particularly body-conscious - I spend many many hours of my working week being confronted by naked bodies (or parts of naked bodies) of all shapes and sizes ;), so I think I've become a bit immune to it. But that's not to say that I don't respect other people's privacy and dignity - it's more that I'm pretty immune to appearances, if you know what I mean.
I'm sure it's the case that most of the time, on an average day, the only person worried about your appearance is yourself.
For me personally, I'm pretty comfortable with myself, but I no doubt have the same little hang-ups as the average laydee - less so as the years go by I think!
Mind you, it doesn't help when your friend keeps joking about your pale skin having the quality of a 100 watt bulb. It's enough to give anyone a complex...

Depends on the alcohol consumption. I have occasionally succumbed to streaking when smashed.
Generally though, I tend to stay clothed around strangers.

I try really hard not to care about my appearance too much, No one is ever perfect and having been in a relationship with a girl who suffered with an eating disorder, I know that I was pretty lucky. =;
The sad thing though is that I am here now and I can list all of the bits of my body I hate. I wont bore you with the details, but I feel ugly, fat and unattractive and even the kind words from my partner, can't take that feeling away. :(
A few years ago, I was fit, athletic and thin. I could ride my mountain bike for miles, climb at E2 and thought little of backpacking around Europe. Then I got old, I got Ill and corrective surgery left even more damage.
I miss the indestructible me, the fit me, the fast me and the young me. It is not just body image, it is mental image and if that is poor, the body image is poor too. :smt090
Interesting thread though.
Right, where did I leave the rope... :reaper:

I try not to be,but, I've got varicose veins(which hurt like hell and swollen from the cold today), scars from having varicose veins removed as a teen and I get very conscious in summer about flashing my legs....but I suppose if anyone did see me flashing them they'd be blinded anyway from milk white legs!!
I don't like the christmas blubber I've put on, I find it repulsive, its on me and and it wasn't there before! Coupled with a good flaring of eczema all over.....I look like a leper. SO yeah, I'm dead sexy lookin me, think I might run down the street in a bikini:shock:

Other than my tiny manhood, I'm fine with mine. Oh, and my conjoined twin seems to freak some people out but I just tend to forget he's there.
