What a Lovely Tribute!!!

Some of you may have already seen these pics but I`ll share them anyway :D

There is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy.25 in rural Iowa not far from where my brother lives. For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times. A few months back, the rock received its latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed.

It's quite an impressive sight! I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not. It's actually painted on the rock too.

It is the work of one teenager, Ray 'Bubba' Sorensen.

did a bit of research on that... he's been painting it since 1999 and changes it every year. the pictures on this one was painted in 2003. have a look at the link for the other years pics. brilliantly talented.

That is very special! I read this thread yesterday, but didn't reply - just didn't want to. Then today, I parked up for a few minutes to get away from the madness on the motorways and saw this. I was reminded of the difference between Claire's pics and what I saw;

It's right next to a road and footpath at Dumplington Church, next to the Old Barton Bridge in Trafford Park.

What kind of mentality feels that doing that is right?

All I could do is shake my head and walk away, muttering under my breath.

Sadly the same sort of idiot who would think its acceptable to pour petrol thru your letterbox and set it alight if you told him what he did was wrong.
You guys in blue must encounter them fairly often i'd imagine. One of the reasons i cant be a cop cos i'd not be able to hold back from beating the living crap out of those types when i caught them.
