As title states, amongst others in this country the postmen and women get slated for striking over something "outsiders" refuse point blank to understand, but at this time of year these people just take it for granted that their post is delivered every morning by the post people come rain shine or snow so Thankyou guys and girls for bringing my letters (although it was junk) to my door without a gripe or groan :thumleft:

Just curious... :)

Postmen and women do a great job and to think that its difficult to walk down your road without slipping on your ar@e these people walk 400 - 800 private addresses each morning, schools close, company's send staff home, your post still gets delivered.

well, most of the time I'm happy with our posties, specially the one that walks off in shorts, giggling at our naughty doggie barking for the letters to eat!....but I'm still waiting for the parcel of xmas pressies from my best mate in France....and I ain't had any post this week apart from a bank statement on Monday.

I suppose its better an empty box than one stuffed with junk!

Wait, they recently ended a strike, does that not count as a groan of sorts?

My postie does not deliver at mine until 4pm, he talks to everyone and anyone he sees on his round.

He drops his red bands everywhere and moans about my slippy drive. But he always delivers my post and today knocked on my door to tell me my keys were on the outside of the key hole ...... so I forgive him for all his little annoying habits :)

Good one posties

in the last few years i have lived at my current house i believe there has been 5 different posties.

most have been great but one had to deliver a parcel once and a s soon as i opened the door he threw it at me then ran off - guess he doesn't like dogs then!!

the present postie is a bit older and likes to stop for a chat. he even asked if we used to live at the house 3 doors away as occasionally there were letters with our name but that house number. we did and bless him he is going to look out for stuff now and will put it through our door from now on.

thumbs up for posties :thumleft::thumleft:

A big non-thank you to whoever at Royal Mail for losing (stealing) the immaculate set of twelve 3/8 drive Snap-On sockets on a QD rail that I bought from a guy on ebay.

That was my christmas present to myself, which you managed to ruin. Every year I tell my family not to buy me anything, and instead I treat myself to something nice. Because my lovely sockets went missing I had to buy myself a Givi to*bo* and rack instead, so the tradition of buying myself something nice has ended.

No post today, whats going on? Usual weekly items which would have been delivered Monday or Tuesday still haven't been delivered. But I know they are delivering in my region, as I saw a postie on the Tv cheerfully saying the snow wasn't going to stop him, but what about my postie :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:!!!!!!!!

If we don't get any tomorrow, I'm gonna call and find out whats going on :reaper:

My Postie is a To55er , he used to leave my sliding front door open EVERY time and let all the heating escape . I left a polite notice but that was ignored . I happen to come back early on my bike one day and caught him in the act . I stepped off the bike , called him back , pointed at the door and said "It didn`t open itself did it , shut the F***er from now on will you or I will extract a Tenner out of your wallet with a large stick to pay for my heating losses."

Seems to have worked .

Again no post today, even my neighbour asked my wife if we had any delivery. Grrrrr

Wife rang up and got through to a call centre and hung up because the recorded message was carp

Rang the sorting office, 1 mile from my house, answerphone!

My paper was still delivered everyday and the guy who delivers is over 60. I still got my freebie paper today, which is delivered by a teenager pulling a trolley.

So why can't my postman deliver?????

Ok today was the worst day, but the last 2 weren't so bad. I've done a full days work everyday since the snow arrived. Grrrrrr

Not seen my postie since before the New Year. I know there is post due (bank statements and the like) but nothing. He is a decent sort of bloke, a biker, so is ok but I suspect they are not bothering with places like our village due to 'adverse weather conditions'.

I could accept this if I lived somewhere remote, but as I said I'm only 1 mile from the sorting office and it's pan flat the whole way. Grrrr

Does anyone know if I can I collect my own post?

Same question, one piece of mail I am waiting on is an info pack for an assessment centre I'm going on and it's getting desperate now.

The answer is yes, my wife collected some of our post from our sorting office this morning
