I have to agree with Nemesis im afraid, was never really taken with the first one, much prefered star wars knights of the old republic.

I completed it this week and thought it was great. Only cost £3 on Steam!

Looking forward to it, though I have a feeling the 'import everything your previous character in ME1 did' thing won't work well.

Let's just hope they don't feed it through a shredder and then sell us each of the shreds as DLC, eh?

A copy for my Pc should arrive early next week. Knew nothing of the 1st game. Not a big fan of RPG and certainly not dungeons and dragon/Jap stuff but can't ignore the amount of top mark reviews.

Loved Fallout3 (about 150+hrs on it and a top5 game ever for me) so if its as good as or better than that I will be very happy.

Just hope the ol' girl is up to it. :smt024 or:compcrash:

it's nothing like fallout 3 more a cross between gears of war and knights of the old republic.

Have decided I prolly won't get this until the GOTY edition comes out - I don't care for paying for a lot of DLC that should have been in the main game by default anyway.

the dlc does annoy me but i get bits free thanks to the codes i get with this eddition.

Yeah, but they said there's an 'intense DLC schedule' ahead. I suffered such a thing once with Fallout 3 (I think I've almost paid for the game again in terms of adding the DLC) and am not keen to again.

Look at Dragon Age, they did the same thing (a few free items to entice you to buy new instead of preowned) and then they start releasing complete ripoffs like the Warden's Keep (which nobody would bother with except it adds a much needed storage box to the game) and Return to Ostagar (which recycles a location that was already in the main game!) both of which you'll finish in about an hour.

I don't go for that. I don't see how the game can cost £39.99 and have, say, 60 hours of content; and then think I'll pay £7 for just one extra hour.

I know it is a joke but if theres people willing to buy it they might aswell keep on making the extras.

Yeah, but it is not a practice I want to encourage. Time was (settles into easy chair and sips brandy) you got a complete game out of the box. If you were really really lucky, you might get an expansion pack/mission disc/whatever a year or so later. Like the Wing Commander games where you had the complete main game, but then you had the Special/Secret Missions disks which came out later and gave you a new mini-story with more missions to fly. Or Operation Flashpoint which first added a new campaign with Red Hammer, and then added lots of new features and another new campaign with Resistance.

But this nickel and diming of 'microtransactions' where you're adding in a single rubbish sidequest or a new gun or something is just out of order, especially given at 800MSP they're only a bit short of what one of those old missions disks used to cost but you're getting a lot less for your money!

Anyway, off the soapbox now.
