....... a decent online hotel finding/booking thingy.

Looking at getting away for 3 or 4 nights to Berlin, possibly early March. Found some cheap flights going in/out of Edinburgh to Berlin Schonefeld, looks as if total cost for 2 adults return is just under £50.00 - bargain!!!!!

Been looking at a couple of sites for a cheap hotel or B&B. What I'm looking for as well as the price is cleanliness, close to the U or S bahn system, fairly close to the city centre etc.

Been looking at ORBITZ, BERLIN30, Ryanair's own site etc but was just wondering if anyone knows of any others.

It's purely a place to stay the night, have breakfast etc while we sight see, visit the site of the former wall etc.

Alternatively does anyone know what the German equivalent is of a travelodge or similar is?????

Sits back and waits for email inbox to go into meltdown with all the really useful replies...........................:thumleft::thuml eft:

Tends to be the same as here IBIS or similar. But there are probably a few Pension's (no not for old folk!)the equivilant of a B&B here.

I stayed in one for a trip to Hamburg a couple of years ago. Best bet would be the German tourist buerau. A friend of mine sorted mine out for me.

But its still quite a popular thing in Germany to run a guesthouse

If you've every used the Ibis chain, they're very good - range of prices and usually good deals.
