View Full Version : ASDA guarantee
if you have ever looked on the packaging on ASDA's own brand products it states on most of them that it has a '200% asda brand guarantee'
i will quote:
'we are so confident in the quality of ASDA brand products that, if you're not delighted with your purchase, we'll give you a refund AND replace it.'
so poppickers would you take advantage of the guarantee or not, by which i mean eat half of the asda product and take it back for a refund and another one? so you would keep half take the other half back and state that you were not delighted.
for the tight fisted among us this could be a cracking way of saving a fair few ££££££££.
or do you think i'm just a typical scotsman?

If only asda made flatscreens...
there is no question of them honouring the guarantee. its a question of theoretically free food. i wonder if the students have caught on to this.

IMO Asda can't be beat for warranty stuff like that. I had an old 28 inch telly from Asda a few years ago and it came with a 3 year guarantee. two and a half years after buying it the screen went funny. I hadn't kept the guarantee card, receipt or anything. They just looked up the make, model and price and offered me the equivalent one as they only had a newer model. I paid 50 quid extra and got a better one, which I still have.
Top service !
Edit - but I wouldn't do what you're proposing, tight ass !!

the 3 year warranty was stopped because people was taking advantage of it, i remember it well cuz i took a sanyo 28" tv back too and got my money back after 2 years lol
aaahhh but there is a 5 year guarantee on electrical goods anyway, bit complicated but there is one. its the manufacturers that they refer to and dont tell people about the other one, for obvious reasons.

I've never even noticed that on the packaging, I dont bother reading it. I just grab and go :D
but if I even bought something I hated in future I shall bear it in mind. TBH i wouldnt even be bothered to trek all the way back to ASDA to get a refund/replacemenr for a cheap item. And im sure they must have a catch - imagine someone turning up with a whole basket of food "i dont like any of this"

Nope - not random. It was a make they stocked, but there was no way of proving it was bought there. They just took me at my word.
well in my defence i was educated and brought up in Edinburgh until the ripe old age of 25 where, we all know people wear fur coats but no knickers. but since becoming a fifer with a fly attitude these thing seem to interest me more and more.
its not stealing if they make the rules :thumright:

its not a case of liking it, they say 'delighted' in the guarantee. '''a whole basket of food''' yes your getting the idea of it now :D.
believe it or not I bought a bottle of wine that tasted crap when I opened it. I took it back to the store the day after (empty, I wasnt going to drive with a half bottle now was I :-) ) and they gave me a refund and replacement :-)

Our last big shop was over £100 and it was all pretty good, yummy or useful as applicable, but I can honestly say none of it was delightful. No, come to think of it I was not delighted at all.
It's Asda for us from now on!

They do take your details when you do this. I imagine if they saw you with any sort of regularity.
Personally I think it's bad to 'take advantage' of this sort of offer. If there is something genuinely wrong, fair enough, but if not and you just want to exploit it to make a profit, it's pretty dishonest.

Never was an ASDA in Aberystwyth so couldn't have taken advantage even if I'd wanted to, gutted...
