Still need to get some idea for one, I've got one idea so far but I've got such a slim chance of taking it that I need a sensible one too.

I'm going to feel slightly under pressure this month! Actually Lord's isn't a stadium, it's a ground, we're always keen to stress that so maybe I'll look for something else.

Yes yes give me a chance, I've got 140,000 pictures in the Lord's photo library, need to sort through which are mine and which are any good, give us a break!

When I go to a stadium event I generally watch instead of trying to picture things. Should have some pics of a Roman stadium from a holiday earlier this year so will have a look for one of those. It's an amphitheatre really of course but...

Il Colosseo, Rome - Colossal by name, and to be fair it was a bit big and impressive. Not much sporting action though!

Is that where they filmed Jumper ?

haggis
12-11-14, 01:25 AM
Yes Darren. At the time I took the pic I had seen the film but only now you've mentioned it, I remember those scenes in the underground chambers.

A quick imdb check confirmed it. Jumper* ( 2008 )

The crew was allowed to film inside the Colosseum for three days, under 3 conditions: no equipment could be placed on the ground, they could only shoot from 6:30 to 8:30 am and 3:30 to 5:30 pm to avoid disturbing tourists, and the only lighting allowed was natural sunlight.

I know what you mean. It's a bit surreal. It was taken at Doddington hall just outside Lincoln. I assume its a folly and has no real purpose other than to amuse the original owner.

A bit like 'Eye of the Needle' at Wentworth, near Sheffield ( going there tomorrow ). Allegedly the heir to the estate used to get topped up on strong drink and then drive his coach and four through it as fast as he could.
. . and you thought high speed fun was invented with the coming of the SV. :D

(Not that I have any romantic pics)

Littlepeahead

Romance sucks. Valentine's day is for those who don't have the imagination to do something special or inventive for their partner all year and then do something totally uncreative and unoriginal because Clinton Cards tell them to.

Pah.

Anyway, here's a photo of Mr LPH and my friend at a wedding, not taken by me. Don't they make a lovely pair.
